The Rolling Stock (RS) business unit is the North American market leader in the production of passenger rail vehicles.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Quality Management to lead all aspects of both internal quality for the Rolling Stock business segment and supplier quality. Quality is a core value of our organization, and this role will serve as a full member of the management team, ensuring that quality management remains integral to every aspect of our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing quality management systems, controls, and tools for extremely sophisticated products and processes from project tender to project completion. This includes quality systems, methods, and tools in project management, design/development, supply chain, and operations. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of our rolling stock business segment, manufacturing processes, and delivering high-quality products to our customers.

What your day-to-day will look like:Oversee all quality aspects of the customer journey, from proposals and project preparation to implementation and delivery, applying feedback tools like NPS (Net Promoter Score).Communicate quality-related updates effectively to customers and authorities.Analyze customer requirements and satisfaction metrics to exceed expectations.Foster a quality-driven attitude across teams by sharing best practices and acting as a role model.Monitor quality performance data to identify trends and drive improvements.Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.Collaborate with HR to lead training and development for quality-related skills.Conduct audits to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.Develop and implement quality assurance policies for vendor-supplied materials.Manage quality budgets and allocate resources effectively.Leading and handling quality improvement functions within the organization.Driving process excellence throughout the organization, focusing on Quality, Safety, Lean, Six Sigma, ISO, and general operations.To thrive in this role, you have:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field, Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management preferred10+ years of quality assurance experience in complex manufacturing environments.Solid understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma). Expertise in lean manufacturing and digital process automation preferred.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.Proven leadership and team-building abilities.Proficiency in quality management software and tools. Certifications (e.g., ASQ Manager of Quality, Six Sigma Black Belt) preferredExperience in rail-bound transit vehicle projects or manufacturing.Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the manufacturing and rail industries.This position is based in Sacramento, CA. The base salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA, is $161,100 - $189,500, and the annual incentive is 15% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
