Director of Product, Marketplace

As a Director of Product on the Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) Team at Affirm, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of consumer financial services, commerce, and payments. 

The DTC Team is responsible for delivering on our vision of ‘It’s Better In The App’. We do this by building a credit centric marketplace that delivers clear/consistent purchasing power, the most flexible credit terms (0% or longer terms) on a ubiquitous instrument (Affirm Card) that can be used ANYWHERE.

As Director of Marketplace, you will be responsible for building and executing on the Marketplace vision/strategy. Focus areas include; efficiently balancing the supply and demand constraints of a two sided marketplace and owning the e2e vertical experience from Discovery -> Search -> Checkout. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Partnerships, Design, Engineering, Product Analytics, Finance, Risk and more to define and build end-to-end solutions that will help enable Affirm at scale via our own first-party DTC experiences.. You should be outcomes driven with a very high bias for action and are undaunted by multiple dependencies both internal and external.

What you'll do

Customer Centricity: Hold the quality bar high to ensure an efficient transfer of value between our end users, merchant/affiliate partners and Affirm Build delightful consumer experiences: Demonstrate a strong familiarity for mobile and web development  Go-To-Market Alignment: Pair from opportunity identification through delivery with GTM teams inclusive of Sales, Partnerships and Product Marketing  Detailed Program Management: Provide visibility into key workstreams and programs, inclusive of P&L details. Pipeline, roadmap, risks and upcoming trade-offs. Autonomous Innovation & Planning: Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where ambiguity is a constant and exercise autonomy to drive product innovation and make strategic decisions. Wholly responsible for Quarterly, Bi-Annual, Annual, and Budget planning processes, inclusive of planning for partner planning processes. Decision Frameworks: Apply common decision-making frameworks to evaluate opportunities, trade-offs and risks Product Opportunity Identification: Identify new product opportunities and drive a comprehensive roadmap that’s informed by data analysis, qualitative research, and your own discovery. Senior Leader Interaction: Interact effectively with senior leaders both internally and externally, presenting insights and strategies that drive our company’s objectives. Team Management: Attract and develop a team of talented PMs across various stages of their career arc. Includes creating lanes for folks earlier in career as well as guiding managers. 

What we look for

10+ years of product management experience in the software tech industry Track record of experimenting and successfully launching products at scale Experience managing supply and demand of a two sided Marketplace Solid technical chops that allow you to have in depth technical discussions and opinions  Outstanding written and verbal communication with a diverse stakeholder audience Experience balancing time to market and rigor, striking the right balance between flexibility and consistency, and comfortable communicating priorities An obsession for getting the details right, but also knowing how to ship on time Comfortable in an ambiguous matrixed organization Will collaborate with domestic and international technology teams.  Ability to identify product opportunities through data analysis, qualitative research, and field research.

Base Pay Grade - T

Equity Grade - Canada 9

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. 

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).

CAN base pay range per year: $203,000 - $283,000
