Responsible for coordinating and supervising the daily activities of the surgical area
Essential Functions
Direct the daily operations of the department including staff scheduling, ensuring the delivery of optimal patient careDevelop new methods to improve existing systems or operationsAssess developmental needs of staff and develop continuing education and quality assurance programs to optimize patient careResearch supplies, instruments and equipment and recommend purchases to the CFO/CNOAssist in the selection, training and evaluation of subordinates and initiate personnel actions in accordance with Human Resources policies and organization philosophyMaintain the necessary level of professional knowledge and technical proficiency in areas of functional responsibilityComplete required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirementsComply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substancesDemonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the unit as neededAtScionHealth, we empower our caregivers to do what they do best. Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma programLicenses/Certification
Valid state license as Registered NurseBLS, ACLS and PALS certifications are requiredDe-escalation training requiredExperience
Three years of operating room experience as a Registered Nurse preferredEducation
