Director of Learning & Development

Primary Role & Responsibilities:

Learning Strategy & Delivery Model

Lead the development of a sustainable learning strategy and multi-year roadmap in support of our growth strategy and business objectives, and leader and workforce development.

Partner with business, HR leaders and subject matter experts to facilitate needs analyses, align on priorities and resourcing, and to set pace & budget.   

Establish service delivery model that delivers leadership, compliance, culture and business/functional learning globally; leverage internal learning structures and capabilities to optimize resources and deliver to organizational commitments.

Ensure learning model is scalable, cost-effective, responsive to global/regional business needs, and balances formal and informal methods while maintaining high standards.

Leadership & Pipeline Development

Develop and integrate leadership programs against a common framework, defining level-requirements that build capabilities from front-line to senior leader levels.

Facilitate analyses and development of global programming that addresses the learning needs of Flowserve’s critical talent pipelines beginning with early career.

Workforce Development

Collaborate with business leaders and content experts on the needs analyses, design and methods to drive sustainable learning for our business-led, Academy programs.

Collaborate in cross-functional initiatives to align learning strategies with key transformation and growth initiatives, building upskill/reskill plans for critical segments.

Create a learning strategy aimed at best-for-Flowserve channel delivery tools and learnings to advance the capabilities of individual contributors, including our field and front-line.

Oversee onboarding programs to ensure a seamless transition for new hires and promote alignment with company culture.

Learning Community & Engagement

Establish and nurture a global community of practice that fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing and builds connectivity with disparate learning entities, technologies and tools across Flowserve.

Promote learning programs internally through robust communication and branding strategies, driving engagement for both formal and informal learning experiences.

Learning Structure & Technology

Develop and maintain a network of external providers for access to the latest learning resources and methods to improve our overall service delivery and program effectiveness.

Work with HR teams to ensure the integration of learning technologies and processes with existing HR systems and job/skill architecture for seamless employee experience.

Leverage learning platforms and tools to personalize learning and increase engagement particularly for our individual contributor population.

Utilize data analytics and reporting to track the effectiveness of training programs, ensuring continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education, organizational development, or related field (master’s preferred).

Fifteen or more (15+) years of experience in learning and development, with 5+ managing teams, ideally in a global, manufacturing environment.  

Proven experience managing full learning program lifecycles, from design to evaluation, both in-house and/or in partnership, with data-driven approaches to measuring impact.

Demonstrated experience developing, continually advancing and scaling global learning programs across all levels of an organization including the field and front-line.

Credible and influential leader with strong commercial orientation and a track record of partnering with stakeholders to drive clarity and alignment to business priorities

Ability to travel internationally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Deep expertise in organizational learning, program design and leadership development, with a proven track record of guiding all levels through behavioral change.

Experience creating a vision and articulating a comprehensive learning strategy with an understanding of effort and operationally what’s required to drive it forward.

Design an effective service delivery model that engages the broader organization and learning eco-system to optimize resources across multiple objectives to maximize value.

Expertise in evaluating a skills-first approach, particularly in measuring and validating skills, and designing talent processes and systems for long-term impact.
