Simmons Bank is seeking an experienced Director to lead our organization's data and analytics transformation journey. This strategic role will spearhead our multi-year Google Cloud transformation initiative, drive agile delivery of data-driven solutions, and champion a culture of data-informed decision-making across the organization. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Vice President and work closely with the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive data and analytics strategy aligned with Simmons Bank's business objectives and Google Cloud transformation efforts.Foster a data-driven culture by evangelizing the value of analytics and gaining buy-in from peers and senior leaders across the organization.Lead the bank's transition to Google Cloud Platform, overseeing the migration of data and analytics capabilities.Agile Delivery and Innovation
Implement agile methodologies to accelerate the delivery of data products and analytics solutions.Drive innovation by identifying and leveraging emerging technologies and best practices in data science and machine learning.Establish centers of excellence for data engineering, analytics, and data science to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with business unit leaders to identify high-impact opportunities for data-driven decision making.Build and maintain strong relationships with key technology partners, including Google, to maximize the value of our cloud transformation.Team Leadership and Talent Development
Mentor and develop a high-performing team of data professionals.Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and agile practices within the data and analytics organization.Attract and retain top talent in the competitive data and analytics field.Any other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; master’s degree preferred.8+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership roleProven track record of leading large-scale data transformation initiatives, preferably in the financial services industryExtensive experience with Google Cloud Platform and other cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure)Deep understanding of agile methodologies and their application to data and analytics projectsTechnical Expertise
Strong knowledge of modern data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time analytics platformsProficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI) and analytics programming languages (e.g., Python, R)Familiarity with machine learning and AI technologies and their applications in bankingLeadership and Soft Skills
