Under the general direction of the Vice President, Human Resources, the Director provides leadership and oversight to the department on HRIS, data delivery, integrations, as well as project management and change management initiatives. They lead a team to develop and execute HR analytics strategies, and ensure data quality and integrity. This position functions as a consultant and thought partner for other HR leaders to maximize process efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of HR practices, systems, data analysis and delivery techniques across multiple systems, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders. Develops schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals while upholding high standards of service. Serves as a member of the Vice President's leadership team and serves on committees as appropriate.
The primary job location is on-campus in Stephenville, Texas. This position may work remotely on a regular basis, with expected travel to the various worksites. Work hours: Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5PM or as work requirements indicate. Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours; work hours may vary during peak season. Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.
Job Description
Strategy Partner
Working with Texas A&M System Shared Services, monitor daily HR System activities including business process functionality, data validation, integrations, reporting, and new releases.
Create a data driven HR culture by designing and delivering key metrics and dashboard to leaders across the university. Support peers in Human Resources and end users across the University with HR data needs.
Create reports within HRIS, data warehouse and other data management systems by understanding and triaging business needs internal/external to HR.
Ensure meaningful and actionable report output, validate and test report structures to ensure information security, and schedule report delivery for efficiency.
Document report specifications and usage, and develop dashboards to capture organizational performance for management.
Identify opportunities to optimize implemented HR Systems by understanding HR business requirements.
Lead a team within HR supporting various internal business process’.
Complete visual data flow tools, process mapping, and present recommendations to HR Management.
Train HR Team members (current and new hires) on HR system usage and assist in developing training materials for end users.
Document procedures for system users.
Prepares ad-hoc reports and query analyses in desired formats
Change and Project Management
Facilities and supports the department’s change management initiatives, ensuring successful execution of key strategic initiatives.
Builds the department’s capacity and willingness to change through knowledge sharing and communication; help employees see the bigger context.
Constantly identifies and suggests better ways to organize work and people to deliver on strategies and improve results.
Delivers efficient HR processes by working across the university and effectively communicating these processes to university employees.
Continually reviews HRs processes and procedures for efficiency and customer-friendliness.
Identifies university needs and process improvement opportunities; collaborates with HR colleagues and campus stakeholders to assess and develop solutions to improve results.
Champions process and program standardization wherever possible by leveraging continuous improvement.
Supports HR projects and initiatives including process improvements, metrics, and campus/community involvement.
Champion ideas and lead others through change initiatives.

Supervision

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten years of technical system experience with a focus on system performance, integrations, and data delivery. Expertise with complex HRIS/ERP instances supporting 2,500+ employees.
Three years of supervisory experience.
Skills and Qualifications
Proficiency in HRIS/ERP systems, including the latest technology and product offerings, with a strong focus on system performance, data integrity, and complex reporting.
Ability to create meaningful and actionable reports, validate and test report structures, and develop dashboards to capture organizational performance.
Skilled in troubleshooting user issues, identifying opportunities for system or process enhancements, and applying new release knowledge to current system configurations.
Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to train team members and document procedures effectively.
Capability to work independently, proactively inquire, and manage daily HR System activities, including business process functionality, data validation, and integrations.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Salary Range:
The target base annual salary range is $85,000 to $95,000 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
