Director of HR - Corporate Functions (Onsite)

Primary Purpose - (Position will be located ONSITE - Millsboro, DE)

The Director of Human Resources – Corporate Functions is a well-rounded HR professional and business partner supporting the functional areas of Sales, Finance, Accounting, IT, Agri-Business, Engineering and Operations Support in Delaware and North Carolina partnering with the Executives who lead these areas.  The incumbent will work collaboratively with business leaders and the HR team to deliver the full spectrum of HR services and programs tailored to the needs of each functional area, including, but not limited to, employee on-boarding and orientation, employee relations, recruitment, staffing, compensation, Benefits administration, organizational design, Job architecture, and talent development.  The incumbent will report to the VP of Human Resources and Communication.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

A talent-focused HR business partner, with broad knowledge and experience providing direction, and support for all HR programs, initiatives, and activities that impact staff working in Sales, Finance, Accounting, IT, Agri-Business, Engineering and Operations support regardless of work location. Responsible for ensuring there is an effective onboarding and orientation processes for all newly hired and promoted staff.  Works with leadership and Talent Management to ensure staff complete training and provide advanced learning opportunities to maximize their contribution to the organization and advance their career path. Partners with business leaders to understand opportunities and constraints to deliver HR excellence in the areas of talent acquisition, talent development, learning and engagement, systems and total rewards, governance and compliance, employee relations and communications. Collaborates with leaders on organizational design, job architecture, and job grading to ensure effectiveness in the functional area.  Partners with the compensation manager to ensure we follow a consistent and fully aligned process to determine total compensation by position. Promotes a culture of safety, employee well-being, and “The Mountaire Way” through all interactions, conduct, and expectations.   Provides actionable feedback and recommendations to department managers to improve individual and team performance.  Provides timely and accurate communication and reporting to the leadership teams they support. Ensures all government requirements (Federal, State, and Local) are fully satisfied for all locations and maintains legal compliance for their area of responsibility.  Responsible for business process optimization and documentation for the HR department.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. 8 - 10 years' relative experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, food industry or related. Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.  Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Excellent computer skills, well versed in the Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), preferable to Oracle HCM. Knowledge of employment laws/regulations. Experience with project management and organizational design.

Team Collaboration:

The HR team is comprised of 200+ employees under the leadership of:  Sr. Director Systems and Total Rewards, Sr. Director Talent Management, Director HR - Operations, Director of Communications, Director of Mountaire Cares, and the Director HR – Corporate Functions, all reporting to the VP of Human Resources and Communications.  Additionally, this position will interface with our corporate support which includes, legal, benefits, organizational programs, and corporate systems.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

The candidate selected for this position will be a self-motivated, high-energy individual who can easily function in a matrix-driven HR environment. He/she must be a talent- focused leader who is inquisitive and engaging with all staff. This professional must demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills by gaining credibility with team members, peers, and senior management across all functional areas.  He/she should be an intentional person with excellent project management skills and good follow through.  Must have strong technical skills as well as technology skills necessary to easily work with a variety of systems and programs, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, Share Point, project management sites, HRIS systems for human capital management, performance management, LMS, and PowerPoint. A bachelor’s degree is required. SPHR certification preferred.  Experience in Organizational Design, employment law, process management and documentation.
