Job Description

Position Summary 
The Director of Food & Beverage provides leadership and management of the Hotels Food & Beverage Division which may include hotel Restaurants and Bars, Rooms Service, Banquets and Catering and Culinary operations.  The position functions as a strategic business leader responsible for the development and implementation of department strategies designed to meet customer needs, ensure employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the Department(s). This position reports to the Property/Hotel General Manager. 

The budgeted salary range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
•    Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental and hotel-wide goals, ensuring alignment with the property's vision and brand standards
•    Oversee all food and beverage operations, including restaurants, bars, in-room dining, culinary, banquets, and catering, ensuring smooth execution and exceptional guest experiences
•    Controls labor and operating expenses through effective planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, policy making, and inventory control while focusing on creative cost control and revenue generation solutions to maximize profit in the division and hotel  
•    Coordinates the selection, training, development, and evaluation of employees and managers in the F&B division to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met while fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork and professional growth
•    Oversees the management of scheduling, payroll, POS, and other F&B systems to optimize revenue, maximize profit and enhance guest satisfaction.
•    Ability to lead the culinary managers and line staff to design and innovate menus, wine lists, beverage programs and amenity offerings while ensuring excellent product quality and value for the customer
•    Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts to ensure the procurement of high-quality ingredients and supplies
•    Analyze operational and financial performance metrics, guest feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and inform decision-making
•    Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and strategies to attract new business and maximize revenue
•    Oversee the planning and execution of banquets, special events, and conferences, ensuring seamless service and memorable experiences for clients and guests
•    Implement sustainable practices in food and beverage operations, support local sourcing, and engage in community initiatives to enhance the property's reputation and guest loyalty
•    Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements 
•    Bachelor’s Degree is Hospitality Management, Business Administration or Culinary Arts, preferred
•    Certified Food & Beverage Executive (CFBE), Sommelier Certification, ServSafe Certifications, preferred
•    7 plus years of progressive experience in food and beverage management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities  
•    Proficient knowledge in managing multiple outlets (e.g., fine dining, casual dining, bars, and banquet operations)
•    Proficient knowledge in opening new outlets, renovations, or implementing large-scale initiatives within food and beverage operations
•    Strong background in high-end hotel or resort operations, demonstrating a deep understanding of luxury standards and guest expectations
•    Extensive knowledge of luxury hospitality operations, including food and beverage trends, fine dining standards, and guest expectations
•    Understanding of international cuisines, wine pairings, mixology, and menu design to ensure alignment with luxury standards
•    Strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning, revenue management, and key performance metrics relevant to food and beverage operations
•    In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, health codes, and industry best practices for hygiene and sanitation
•    Familiarity with event management, banquet operations, and catering logistics in a luxury setting
•    Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop large, diverse teams to deliver exceptional service
•    Capability to analyze complex situations, develop strategic initiatives, and execute solutions effectively
•    Strong ability to interact with guests, team members, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and relationship-building
•    Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and deadlines in a fast-paced luxury environment
•    Capability to align food and beverage strategies with the property’s overall vision and brand identity
•    Flexibility to respond to changing market trends, guest preferences, and operational challenges
•    Proficiency in analyzing operational and financial data to guide improvements and innovations

Additional Information

Work Environment and Physical Demands 
•    Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time 
•    Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces 
•    Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
