About the Opportunity:
Brown University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) brings a Brown education to new audiences of learners: those focused on the development of skills and a breadth of knowledge necessary for professional success and leadership. We leverage Brown’s intellectual centers of excellence, rigorous teaching, and developmental approach to learning in a range of programs, including serving students outside of traditional degree programs. We partner with Brown departments, centers, institutes, and schools to develop degree and non-degree programs, and to support the recruitment, retention, and placement success of master’s students, including traditional, non-traditional, and professional students.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Executive Education is responsible for the overall success of a growing portfolio of non-credit programs including custom offerings, certificates and short programs. The Director is responsible for the overall strategic vision for SPS executive education portfolio which includes custom and open enrollment programs. The position oversees the current portfolio of programs, managed by two Associate Directors, and develops a strategy for growing them and launching additional programs. In addition, this position has direct responsibility for selling, designing, developing and delivering high quality customized executive education programs by collaborating with clients and faculty. The Director develops relationships with potential partners, understands their training needs, and works with faculty and the SPS team to propose high-quality programming to meet client objectives with a particular focus on the non-degree space. The position works closely with SPS Director of Marketing and Director of Recruitment to develop and implement a robust marketing and recruitment strategy for the open enrollment programs. This position oversees the executive education team and has direct supervisory responsibilities over two associate directors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required and 8+ years of experience in executive education, business development, talent management, or a related field
3+ years of supervisory experience
Expertise in talent development, executive and non-degree education space.
A record of significant program and management experience in an executive education or other consultative service-focused business, developing high- level contact
Experience in proposal design, relationship management
Experience developing financial models
Experience in higher education and/or working with faculty strongly preferred
Strong project management skills
Creative and innovative mindset
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Enthusiasm for developing an in-depth understanding of SPS expertise
