Director of Development
Job Summary The KidsPeace Director of Development will take primary responsibility for the fundraising activities in the Lehigh Valley, while working with the Vice President of Development to identify strategies for growing fundraising nationally. The Director of Development will design and implement annual fundraising activities nationally, including: donor cultivation, information management and recognition; special event management; cultivation of key stakeholder relationships; supporting regional fundraising Boards and activities; developing planned giving programs; and designing and implementing direct mail and communication messaging. Job Duties + Identify, cultivate and solicit individuals and local businesses in the regional market area to secure funding. This includes event sponsorships, in-kind donations and donations + Act as staff liaison with the KidsPeace Auxiliary and Lehigh Valley Board of Associates to support their growth and fundraising efforts + Build donor and community trust through consistent, meaningful contact and communications such as coordinating the Annual Donor Recognition Event, personalized opportunities for donors to tour our facilities and attend events, donor plaques, certificates, and photos for publication + Manage the Direct Mail process and all related systems and activities + Manage the solicitation of donors for cultivation and recognition utilizing direct mail, phone, email, newsletters and personal visits to actively establish and maintain strategic relationships with all local donors. Recommend, implement and evaluate strategies for obtaining and increasing current gift support + Work with the President of KidsPeace Foundation and executive administrative staff to manage and coordinate the Executive Leadership and KidsPeace Foundation Trustees' schedules to identify key community events requiring leadership attendance and to provide necessary background information on key attendees and/or potential donors + Maintain the donor database and the acknowledgment of contributions + Provide reports and copy for the Annual Report regarding philanthropy + Develop and manage a Planned Giving program Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in fundraising, communications, public relations or government affairs or other related field required + Minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, management, creative writing, research, special events planning and project management required + Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, flexible hours and overtime as required
