Role

Reorg is looking for a Director of Data Architecture who will be responsible for overseeing data architecture related application development. This role will be responsible for designing, building and supporting scalable data management applications and services and is part of our data technology team. 

Responsibilities

Mentor and manage one or more large-scale application development teams, demonstrating a track record of effective leadership. Lead the design and development of scalable enterprise-scale APIs, ensuring they meet both functional and performance requirements. Utilize hands-on experience to design, build, and support customer-facing enterprise-grade applications. Participate in business and technical design reviews, and work with the product and commercial stakeholders to ensure that we are allocating engineering resources appropriately.  Manage distributed teams effectively, fostering collaboration and ensuring efficient project execution. Provide technical leadership by guiding the team in applying design patterns and adhering to SOLID engineering principles, promoting reusability, modularity, scalability, durability, and fault-tolerant architecture. Manage senior stakeholders, resolve conflicting priorities, and provide visibility on established priorities, scope, resource allocation, and project timelines. Partner with technology leadership team members to ensure service reliability through rigorous testing and release procedures. Develop standards and procedures to ensure quality standards are met and maintained. Ensure compliance with security and firmwide architecture standards. 

Requirements

Strong understanding of technical design patterns and SOLID engineering principles. At least 10+ years of experience with Python,C#, PHP, VueJS, Elasticsearch or equivalent technologies. At least 3+ years of experience with AWS/GCP/Azure, Apache Kafka, Terraform, Docker, and other technologies.  Experience with Django and Laravel is a plus. Proven experience in data modeling and database design, with proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases. Thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and scalable solutions. Experience with software development life cycle including but not limited to tools used to manage software development processes such as JIRA, Confluence, GitHub etc.  Experience managing a distributed team.  At least 3+ years of leadership experience, managing and mentoring engineering teams.

 

At Reorg, we consider a range of factors in connection with compensation decisions, including experience, skills, location, and our business needs and limitations. As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.

The salary range estimate for this position is $190,000-$210,000. 

The actual compensation will be at Reorg’s sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
