Salary Range: $40.13 - $55.30

Position Summary:
â— This position reports to the Executive Director of the LVCHO.
â— Provides leadership to the Healthy Lompoc Coalition.
â— Coordinates multiple community projects of the Healthy Lompoc Coalition.
â— Continuously reviews potential grant funding sources that could benefit the community.
â— Identify funding opportunities, including grants and partnerships, to secure financial support for programs.
â— Develop and manage budgets for community programs, ensuring that programs are delivered within financial guidelines.
â— Ensure appropriate allocation of resources to meet program objectives.
â— Promotes community health best practices and leads the development and implementation of wellness initiatives for businesses, schools, and organizations across diverse communities.

Position Duties/Responsibilities:
â— Facilitates Community Health planning with the Healthy Lompoc Coalition and with other organizations.
â— Develop, implement, and manage community programs that meet the needs of the local population, aligning with the organization’s mission and goals.
â— Ensure that programs are delivered effectively, efficiently, and are continuously improved based on feedback and evaluation.
â— Foster strong relationships with local community groups, organizations, businesses, and government agencies.
â— Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to identify needs and mobilize resources for program delivery.
â— Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and on committees to promote our programs and services.
â— Lead and manage program staff and volunteers, providing direction, support, and professional development opportunities.
â— Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment for staff and volunteers.
â— Develop and implement systems to assess the effectiveness and impact of community programs.
â— Collect and analyze data to inform program improvements and generate reports for stakeholders, funders, and leadership.
â— Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase community engagement and participation in programs.
â— Assesses need through research, analysis and consensus building to define unmet needs.
â— Convenes organizations and individuals for dialogue and discussion of needs for community health improvement and potential implementation strategies.
â— Designs and implements educational strategies to promote health and well-being across diverse communities, engaging organizations, businesses, schools, and families.
â— Supports the promotion of programs through social media, the Healthy Happenings Newsletter, and the organization’s website to effectively enhance outreach and engagement.
â— Oversees development of grant applications and provides technical assistance to organizations writing grants or taking the lead and producing quality grant applications.
â— Works closely with LVCHO Executive Director on special projects and initiatives.
Essential Functions:
â— Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
â— Ability to effectively network and communicate with diverse cultural and ethnic groups.
â— Knowledge of the principles and best practices for completing focus groups and key informant interviews.
â— Knowledge of the principles of community organizing and advocacy.
â— Ability to work well independently as well as with a team.
â— Ability to design implement and evaluate health education programs.
â— Knowledge of effective strategies for communicating positive health and wellness messages, promoting healthy behaviors, and fostering community engagement to support overall well-being.
â— Computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
Special Requirements
Must have access to reliable transportation readily available for use on the job.
Position Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelors Degree with degree in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, social Work or closely related field, Masters Degree Preferred.
• Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible experience in program implementation, community organizing and agency collaboration in community health improvement.
• Certification: None required.
• Skills/Ability: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits the ability to organize work assignments and follow through with accuracy. Exercises good judgment, demonstrates initiative, emotional stability, tact and poise.
