The Dir-Communications Strategy is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of effective communication plans that align with business objectives and priorities. This role involves leading a team who act as business partners to the organization, providing communications guidance, project management, and messaging development to various departments. Job Overview The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is seeking an experienced Director of Communications to lead the team responsible for developing and overseeing GPM and St. Jude Global internal communications. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Operations, the Director of Communications will work with departmental leadership to develop and implement strategic communication plans and direct digital presence for the GPM, St. Jude Global, and the St. Jude Global Alliance. In this new and exciting role, the director will liaise and collaborate with institutional communications leadership, and establish procedures to ensure brand compliance. Job Description The Director of Communications is responsible for: Leading the process to develop a comprehensive internal communications strategy for GPM, St. Jude Global, and the St. Jude Global Alliance. Leading the development and execution of the GPM, St. Jude Global, and St. Jude Global Alliance’s digital strategy and presence. Overseeing the design, content, and performance of the St. Jude Global website and St. Jude Global Alliance platform, ensuring an optimal user experience and up-to-date content. Collaborating with St. Jude Global program teams to identify needs and ensure alignment with institutional strategic initiatives. Overseeing final concepts to ensure brand alignment and establishing a process to obtain approvals for deliverables. Liaising with St. Jude Communications leadership. Identifying potential risks and creating and implementing strategies to mitigate them. Directing activities and setting outcomes for communications to ensure compliance with all brand standards and appropriate regulatory requirements. Collaborating with institutional strategic communications teams to ensure accurate content, and compliance with institutional practices and policies. Driving processes for team management including goalsetting, performance, development, and engagement. Developing content for the executive operations team within GPM. Serving as a member of the GPM operations leadership team. Reviewing and participating in negotiations as needed for contracts and agreements. Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, mass media, or other communication-intensive fields with 10+ years of experience. Master's degree/PhD preferred. Demonstrated experience leading a full-service communications team and/or media services team with a strong emphasis on project management, quality and customer service, in communications in a comparable industry. Experience with operational management, budget planning & vendors, and resource management. Prior success in building external connections with peers, resources that support institutional needs, and vendor networks. Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role. Guides performance of direct reports through coaching and development Plans and coordinates multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Adapts quickly and efficiently in the face of changing priorities. Demonstrates high level of cultural sensitivity. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $138,320 - $262,080 per year for the role of Director of Communications - St. Jude Global, GPM, and the Global Alliance.
