Director of Business Development & Capture

 POSITION SUMMARY

 

Under the supervision of the VP of Business Development working with business unit operations leadership, the Director of Business Development & Capture will be responsible for developing and executing win strategies associated with approved pursuit efforts. This includes forming customer relationships, teaming strategies, key and other personnel selections, technical and management approach, and pricing strategies, as well as oversight of the entire proposal development effort.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads customer outreach under the guidance of senior management Leads opportunity identification and investigation Leads capture and proposal development primarily for the Intelligence Community (IC), and international and domestic mission support opportunities Moves assigned opportunities through the business development lifecycle Prepares and oversees implementation of effective customer call plans Builds capture teams and assigns capture responsibilities across the company in coordination with functional area leads (contracts, pricing, finance, HR, etc.) Prepares detailed competitor analyses Identifies qualified teaming partners Develops pricing strategies, and coordinates them with the Pricing Team Independently leads the coordination and preparation of proposals including scheduling; conducting kick-off meetings, storyboarding and win strategy sessions, and review meetings Translates capture strategy, win themes, customer hot buttons, discriminator/differentiators, and ghosting techniques throughout the proposal Drives proposal content from contributors, writers, SMEs and reviewers to the proposal outline and schedule and assures that the proposal is compliant, compelling and persuasive in accordance with the solicitation requirements Coordinates development and implementation of communications/marketing campaigns supporting capture efforts Maintains opportunity information and status in Salesforce Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and other practices set forth by upper management Participates as requested in strategic road mapping and pipeline development activities Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Active TS/SCI clearance required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required Military or IC experience (preferred) 6-8 years of capture management experience 4+ years proposal development experience Project or Program Management experience (preferred) Multi-disciplined experience leading winning US government captures (>$50M) for IC and international and domestic mission support opportunities Familiarity with capture tools (GovWin IQ, Salesforce, etc.) Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to synthesize requirements and present business cases for action/corporate response in a clear, concise, focused manner Computer proficient and experienced in MS Word, Power Point, Excel and Salesforce

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday standard core hours, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
