The Department of Allied Health in the School of Health Sciences at the University of New Haven is seeking to hire a 12-monthNon-Tenure TrackFaculty member in the role ofDirector of Academic Educationfor the Physician Associate Program.This position will support all aspects of the program to include teaching didactic content, participating in the program-s ongoing self-assessment, compliance with ARC-PA standards, student advising, service on assigned committees, and support the clinical year student experiences. The School of Health Sciences offers a vibrant and diverse clinical and research atmosphere where academic and clinical faculty provide students with the highest level of professional education in the classroom and in the community. You will: Essential Responsibilities and Functions of the Director of Academic Education + Perform essential duties in service to the program as a principal faculty member, including leadership of the didactic team of faculty, academic instruction, assistance with curriculum oversight and all academic policies in collaboration with the Program Director + Oversight and review of all course syllabi, ensuring consistency of construction and course content is delivered in a student supportive environment to achieve the course learning outcomes. + Assists with the program-s ongoing self-assessment plan, collection and maintenance of student generated data across the curriculum. + Ensures consistency of practice, protocols, and processes in accordance with the University academic practices. + Serve as Chair of the program-s Didactic Sub-committee. + Assist Program Director with monitoring for compliance to all ARC-PA standards. + Maintains course files consistent with ARC-PA Standards. + Assists with onboarding of new faculty and serves as a mentor for faculty transitioning from clinical work into academia. + Manage, analyze, interpret, and report performance data to the Program Assessment Committee. + Design, implement, support, and maintain documentation of student remediation. + Participate in the program-s admission process. You need: Required Qualifications + A Masters degree in Physician Assistant/Associate studiesoran earned Ph.D or MD. + Three years of teaching experience in post-secondary education. + Experience in research and the statistical analysis of data. + Commitment to fostering a student supportive learning environment. + Demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and innovation, active-learning, and student engagement of students with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - in the classroom, with colleagues, in written work, community. + Experience with course and program development. + Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
