Director Monitoring and Compliance

Job Summary: The Director of Monitoring and Compliance is responsible for supporting ongoing monitoring through record-keeping and reporting systems and ensures compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, Accreditation and childcare licensing requirements. The incumbent serves on the delegate Senior Leadership Team and works collaboratively with senior leadership to build a culture of excellence and accountability. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: + Provides monitoring oversight to assure that all Centers in Program are fully compliant with Head Start Performance Standards, state licensing regulations and Policies and Procedures. + Works across all service areas to develop and implement systems that allow Center Directors and Service Area leadership to work more efficiently. + Works with the Director of Operations to consistently monitor center Health and Safety, including adherence with all licensing requirements. + Provides reports to the Vice President regarding areas of non-compliance, Health & Safety issues and corrective action plans. + Resolves compliance concerns in a timely manner and establishes a culture of excellence. + Oversees monthly Health and Safety monitoring to ensure timely communication with regarding outstanding health and safety concerns. + Ensures that all Centers maintain up-to-date licensing in all required areas and that proper documentation/follow up is completed after licensing visits. + Owns relationships with state licensing specialists and develops strong back and forth communication to support the needs of the program and meet all state licensing requirements. + Ensures that all Centers maintain up-to-date Accreditation in all required areas and that proper documentation/follow up is completed annually to ensure compliance. + Analyzes and mitigates risk to the Program (attendance issues, low enrollment, licensing issues) by proactively monitoring; developing an action plan and coordinating with CD and Family Services lead to execute the plan. + Coordinates with Service Area leads to implement the Self-Assessment System for Continuous Improvement and Evaluation (SASCIE), which includes supporting the Vice President in holding leadership accountable for action plans to promote quality improvement based upon SASCIE ratings. + Receives and acts upon accidents and incidents. + Facilitates professional development workshops as appropriate. + Works in coordination with delegate and grantee leadership to carry out other monitoring and quality improvement activities. + Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required. Supervision: + Supervises assigned department personnel. Includes the following responsibilities, but are not limited to: hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the completion of all work performed by direct reports. + Educates direct reports on all department and company policies and procedures. + Meets with assigned staff regularly to identify and resolve problems, manage projects, track goals, and review work processes and procedures. + Represents team and/or department at meetings, events, and training as required. ​ Contribute to Acelero, Inc. community of practice by: + Demonstrating leadership in alignment of work and approach to company vision, mission, core values and the advancement of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. + Serving as an active member of both the Acelero, Inc. executive leadership team and Acelero Shine leadership teams. + Communicating department goals and progress frequently and effectively with Acelero, Inc. board of directors, executive leadership, business unit leaders, and other appropriate internal and external stakeholders. + Partnering in cross-network communications and development activities to advance Acelero’s strategic priorities. + Serving as an industry thought leader on HR-related topics through conference presentations, articles, and professional or scientific publications. Job Requirements: + Bachelor’s degree required. + Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience required; education experience preferred; experience with managing licensing or accreditation a plus; educational industry experience is a plus with Pre-K or previous Head Start experience being ideal. + Physical exam and background checks are required for this position. + Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions. + Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
