We are looking for you to join our team as a Director, Manufacturing Operations 2 based out of Waynesboro, VA.
What you will get to do:
The Manufacturing Operations Director is responsible for establishing and leading all Virgina Manufacturing operations including the construction and launch of the Waynesboro site and the operation of the Charlottesville site. Charlottesville supports the Naval and Oceanic Systems business unit; a key element of the Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors (MLSS) division within the Mission Systems sector. Naval and Oceanic Systems designs, builds, tests, and supports ship bridge systems, automation, steering and navigation. The Waynesboro site will support multiple divisions by building, testing and supporting advance radar systems. The General Manufacturing Director will lead a high performing Manufacturing teams of up to 600 employees responsible for a vast portfolio of products and processes including: wire harness build, assembly, test, machining, painting, sustainment and product development.
Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success leading broad organizations within cost and schedule while achieving a high level of product quality and employee engagement in a safe environment. The position requires a systems thinking approach, unwavering ethics and values, and the demonstrated ability to be a trusted partner. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information, effective communication, and championing and leading change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers. The General Manufacturing Director reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to improve Product/Process designs for automation and productivity and demonstrate the principles of running a safe work environment, as well as have the ability to stand up and sustain self-directed work teams
and launch and sustain digital tools for manufacturing.
Major Responsibilities:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or related environmentMinimum of 8 years strong senior management experienceProgressive leadership experience in manufacturing/production, operations, program management, testing, maintenance or related areaExperience with industry and management methodologies focused on continuousimprovement in manufacturing, such as ISO 9000, World Class Manufacturing and/or Six SigmaUS Citizenship is requiredAbility to obtain an active Secret security clearance

Experience building, equipping and launching a large manufacturing siteExperience in running an organization that has been through a lean transformation and is operating in a lean systemExperience with automation operations and maintenanceSix Sigma greenbelt/blackbeltProgram Management experienceExperience with Quality Management and Supplier Quality ManagementSalary Range: $184,600.00 - $276,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
