The Director of Legal Operations is a results-driven individual who is responsible for bringing departmental efficiency and effectiveness to a best-in-class level. In this role, you will report to the Chief Legal Officer, participate in the Legal Leadership Team, and work with legal and business stakeholders at all levels of the company. You’ll coordinate activities related to finance and budget management, legal technology, legal resource management, departmental processes, change management, and general operations of the department. 

What you will do:

Lead the department budgeting and expense management processes and drive partnership with FinanceAssist Chief Legal Officer and Legal Leadership team with day-to-day department operations, reporting, financial management, reporting, communicationsDesign, implement, and manage program to oversee external law firms and legal vendors, including oversight of e-billing systems, billing guidelines, protocols for price negotiations and alternative fee arrangements, and RFP processesLead continuous improvement projects in the delivery of legal services to meet the needs of the department and the organization, including cost savings opportunitiesLead department efforts to adopt, deploy, and utilize new and existing technology tools that increase the department’s efficiency and effectiveness, applying change management principles as neededLead team that provides project oversight for complex cross-team or cross-departmental initiativesInfluence, design, and promote departmental policies and procedures, programs, training, town halls, key performance indicatorsCollaborate with HR to enhance talent development, performance management, talent reviews and year-end compensation planningCreate and drive relationships with key company functions, such as IT, Finance, General ServicesDemonstrate thought leadership and global collaboration related to best practices, IT projects, regulatory requests, and other cross-border department needs

What you will bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology or similar field preferred. MBA a plusEquivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered7+ years’ experience in legal department or other operational settingHighly proficient in finance, budgeting, and expense managementProven track record of making an impact, developing, and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long termExperience with law department operations and technologies, e.g., matter management, e-billing, discovery management, contract managementExcellent interpersonal skills; comfortable dealing with all levels of our organization, including executive leadershipProactive approach to recognizing needs, solving problems, anticipating issues while delivering innovative solutions with a continuous improvement mindset and approachAttention to detail with excellent time management and prioritization abilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skills

Base Salary Range

$126,600.00 - $183,525.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
