Director- Information Technology

The Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) a unit of Multidisciplinary Innovations at the University of Pittsburgh is looking for an experienced Information Technology (IT) Director to oversee IT operations. The Director manages a team of IT professionals, liaise with other teams to ascertain their technological requirements, and develops and implements solutions that meet these requirements and are aligned with institute objectives. To be successful as an IT director you should possess excellent operational awareness, technical aptitude, and superior project and people management skills. An outstanding IT director is able to ensure smooth, secure, and consistently updated technical operations to meet and further institute goals. 

The IT Director has deep institutional awareness through collaboration and communication with institute divisions and applies technology solutions to meet broader goals. The ideal candidate has a sound strategy for IT operations, systems, and developments in support of a health research enterprise, strong leadership and project management skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The IT Director is knowledgeable about desktop support, data administration, networks and computer systems and has a highly analytical mindset with superb problem-solving skills. Individual must be able to work with a diverse group of people across academic disciplines. 

Directs and manages diverse, centrally provided technology services. Designs and facilitates an information technology infrastructure that includes the network infrastructure, system infrastructure, and overall intranet infrastructure. Oversees the entirety of institutional information technology (IT) and subsequently develops and executes institution technology policies.

Ability to operate a PC and communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a broad variety of people.
