As the Director of Human Resources, you will partner with the property leadership team, acting as a trusted advisor.  You'll help the organization meet business goals and objectives by understanding the business needs, objectives, and challenges and by providing appropriate consultation and guidance.   In addition, this individual acts as a cultural ambassador for our team members and a servant leader and coach for our leaders.  They combine the desire to authentically care for others with their human resources technical knowledge. 

Helping the Leadership Team reach their full potential by providing learning opportunities, consultation services and individual coaching for personal growth and developmentSupporting the local execution of corporate programs/communications that will impact our people (i.e. recognition, development, benefits, etc.)Participate in the planning and promotion of associate engagement activities  ​Assist with ensuring that internal communication is in alignment with Evo’s culture and guiding principles​Assist with instilling confidence and trust with leaders helping them grow as servant leaders and foster psychological safety with ongoing micro-learningsProactively evaluating work processes and standards. Identifying methods for increasing efficiency or effectiveness, and responding proactively to any needs that have arisenEffectively leveraging (as appropriate) corporate support for consistency in approach behind implementations and efficiency in executionCollaborating with and providing guidance and assistance to the leadership and management team on all human resource issues including workforce talent management, recruitment, associate relations, performance management, and legal requirementsPlanning and managing the recruitment, interviewing, hiring and orientation processes to maintain staffing levels with qualified individualsWorking with employees of all levels to resolve associate relations issues by advising management regarding employment law and compliance, coordinating investigations and recommending the appropriate next steps and/or corrective actionCoaching supervisors and managers in managing employee performance issuesApproach all encounters with guests and Associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented mannerDirect and supervise Human Resources teamPrepare and maintain Human Resources budgetMaintain thorough and current knowledge of all Human Resources/Associate regulations and laws, and ensure that the property is in complianceParticipate in EEO, Unemployment, Wage & Hour, Worker's Compensation, OSHA, ADA, Immigration and Naturalization Service hearings.  Implement policies and programs to guarantee compliance

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 3+ years of Director leadership experience is required with a minimum of 3 years hotel HR experienceExposure to the standard HR competencies, including compensation, employee relations, benefits, staffing and trainingExtensive knowledge of current training strategies, methods and materialsStrong presentation and facilitation skillsExperience developing and conducting employee trainingAbility to handle multiple and changing priorities in a professional mannerAbility to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issuesMust possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skillsAbility to handle complex issues encountered using knowledge acquired through training and experienceDemonstrated ability to gain the trust and confidence of managers and employees and influence the organizationAbility to diagnose organizational issues and implement creative solutionsAnalytical skills with demonstrated ability to translate data to insight and then into actionAbility to research and analyze different types of data informationMultiple language abilities preferred, fluency in English required and Spanish desiredProficient skills using Microsoft Office products is requiredMust be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.
