Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Provide direction and oversight for all assessment processes within the College of Humanites & Earth and Social Sciences with a focus on evaluating and improving student learning and College performance.
+ Overseeing the preparation of annual student learning outcomes assessment reports for each of the College’s certificates, majors, and degree programs for SACS ; managing databases, distributing assessment materials, collecting results from departments and programs, analyzing data, generating reports as needed, and facilitating faculty analysis of their programs.
+ Lead the annual review of the College’s Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Plans and Reports, an Academic Affairs initiative, providing feedback to Department Chairs and Program Directors on their assessment reports and provides guidance on how to use their assessment findings for program improvement.
+ Exercise leadership to ensure ongoing assessment of student learning outcomes and leads discussions and implications of assessment data and the changes to make on the basis of the assessment findings.
+ Serve on University committees to identify and implement assessment and accreditation best practices and supports the University Office of Assessment and Accreditation in ad hoc projects, for example with personnel search committees and selection of assessment management software.
+ Serve as the College’s point of contact with the Office of Assessment and Accreditation for all University assessment and accreditation matters.
+ Manage the College’s program review processes, ensuring compliance with University standards and readiness for SACS accreditation.
+ Support the College’s curriculum development, including development of new degree programs.
+ Carry out research and evaluation projects, and is responsible for data collection, data analysis, and preparing reports for constituencies, including the College’s Dean, Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and Program Directors.
+ Other related duties, as assigned.
Minimum Experience / Education:
+ Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
+ A minimum of three years of full-time experience at an institution of Higher Education facilitating academic planning assessments and self-studies.
+ Significant experience in the area of assessment and/or evaluation.
+ Experience with outcome-based assessment strategies and methods.
+ Ability to analyze and interpret assessment results.
+ Proven ability to work collaborative and productively.
+ Excellent communication skills, including presenting workshops and developing reports.
+ Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
+ Doctorate in a discipline related to educational assessment is preferred.
+ Significant experience in managing and leading large-scale academic assessment activities at the program-level is strongly preferred.
+ Experience with data analysis and statistical software is preferred.
+ Proficiency with assessment and student software, including Anthology, and Banner is desired.
+ Proficiency with data visualization software, including Tableau is strongly preferred.
+ Experience with both quantitative and qualitative methods is strongly preferred.
+ Ability to conduct peer-reviewed research is strongly preferred.
+ Engagement in working with faculty and staff to promote effective strategic planning and assessment practices is necessary.
+ Engagement in the design, evaluation, and assessment of program performance is necessary.
+ Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty and staff.
+ Ability to translate data into usable information and transform it into formats that are consumable for decision-making purposes.
