**Job Description**
The Director of Contract Compliance will oversee the contract compliance program, ensuring the organization’s contracts, specifically related to healthcare billing (hospital and professional), adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations. This leadership position will be responsible for managing a team of compliance analysts, including the Senior Contract Compliance Analyst, to ensure ongoing contract compliance monitoring, risk identification, and issue resolution. The Director will collaborate with various internal departments, including legal, finance, and operations, to develop strategies for identifying and mitigating contract violations, escalating critical issues, and maintaining a high standard of compliance across the organization.
**Qualifications**
**Education** :
-Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field. Master?s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CHC, CPC, CCS) are a plus.
**Experience** :
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract compliance, healthcare compliance, or revenue cycle management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
-Extensive experience with healthcare billing processes (PB and HB) and contract compliance monitoring.
**Skills** :
-Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of developing and mentoring teams.
-Advanced analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, non-compliance issues, and potential legal risks.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex compliance issues in a clear and concise manner.
-Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, particularly when managing high-risk or time-sensitive compliance issues.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and experience with healthcare billing or compliance software.
**Knowledge** :
-In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, contract law, and the revenue cycle, with particular focus on PB and HB claims.
-Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment surrounding healthcare contract compliance.
-Ability to stay current with evolving compliance regulations, trends, and industry best practices.

**Responsibilities**
1. Leadership and Team Management:
• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of contract compliance professionals, including the Senior Contract Compliance Analyst, to ensure efficient and effective contract compliance monitoring.
• Foster a collaborative environment with internal teams, including finance, legal, billing, and operations, to align contract compliance strategies and goals.
2. Contract Compliance Oversight:
• Oversee the tracking and trending of contract compliance issues, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and compliance is maintained across both professional billing (PB) and hospital billing (HB) claims.
• Ensure that all contract terms are properly understood, interpreted, and applied across the organization, especially within claims processing.
3. Escalation and Issue Resolution:
• Identify, evaluate, and escalate significant contract compliance issues that may require legal or third-party intervention, working closely with legal teams when necessary.
• Collaborate with the Senior Contract Compliance Analyst and other team members to develop and implement effective strategies for resolving compliance issues.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for legal, finance, and operational teams regarding contract compliance issues.
• Work closely with insurance carriers, vendors, and other external entities to address and resolve compliance-related claims or concerns.
5. Compliance Program Development and Improvement:
• Develop and refine policies, procedures, and protocols for contract compliance monitoring and issue resolution.
• Ensure that the organization’s contract compliance practices are continuously improving to meet evolving industry standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.
6. Training and Development:
• Oversee the ongoing training and development of the contract compliance team, ensuring staff is well-equipped to identify and resolve compliance issues across both PB and HB claims.
• Promote cross-training programs to ensure the team’s flexibility in supporting both PB and HB compliance tasks as needed.
7. Regulatory and Legal Adherence:
• Stay current with healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance practices align with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Advise senior leadership on potential legal or regulatory changes that could impact contract compliance and recommend necessary adjustments to existing processes.
8. Reporting and Analytics:
• Oversee the preparation of regular compliance reports, identifying trends, issues, and areas of improvement, and present findings to senior leadership.
• Use data-driven insights to develop strategies for mitigating compliance risks and ensuring contract adherence.

**Compensation Statement**
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117000 - $208000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
