Department: Commercial Position: Director Commercial Location: ISB - Corporate HQT Number Of Openings: 1 Description: The Director Commercial is responsible for formulating and implementing Airblue Limited's commercial strategy, driving revenue growth, and maintaining market competitiveness while ensuring full compliance with National Aviation Policy. The role oversees critical functions such as sales, marketing, customer experience, cargo operations, and route development, ensuring all activities align with national and international regulatory requirements, including IATA and local aviation authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute Airblue's commercial strategy to achieve organizational goals and compliance with National Aviation Policy.
- Identify growth opportunities, including market expansion, partnerships, and new revenue streams, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks.
- Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments to guide strategic decision-making.
Sales and Revenue Management:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve optimum revenue and market share objectives.
- Oversee direct sales, travel agency partnerships, and other direct customer channels to ensure optimal market penetration.
- Manage and lead sales teams throughout the network.
- Drive sales team performance through clear objectives, training, and incentives.
- Formulate and implement pricing strategies to maximize load factor and yield while adhering to regulatory pricing frameworks.
- Oversee demand forecasting, inventory control, and fare optimization processes.
- Utilize advanced analytics to identify revenue growth opportunities and improve decision-making.
- Ensure all revenue-generating activities adhere to national fare regulations and other applicable standards.
Customer Experience and Brand Management:
- Lead initiatives to enhance customer experience and build brand loyalty, ensuring compliance with consumer protection and aviation standards.
- Direct marketing strategies, ensuring all communications meet regulatory guidelines and uphold the airline's reputation.
- Manage and promote efficient call center services.
Route Development and Network Planning:
- Analyze and expand Airblues route network based on demand, profitability, and regulatory permissions.
- Engage with Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority and other government bodies to secure approvals for new routes and operational changes.
Regulatory Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure all commercial operations align with National Aviation Policy, competition laws, and consumer protection policies.
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards as mandated by aviation authorities.
- Act as the primary liaison for regulatory bodies concerning commercial matters.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, inspire, and mentor the Commercial team to meet performance objectives while fostering a culture of compliance & innovation.
Position Qualification Requirements include: Highest educational degree awarded: Masters Degree Work Experience in Similar Position: 10-15 years Required Skills: Education:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Aviation Management, or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Min 12 years of progressive experience in commercial aviation, including 5 years in a senior leadership role preferably in aviation sector.
Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations
Strong leadership, decision-making & interpersonal skills
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
