Key Responsibilities:The Director – Cash Management & Investment will be responsible for developing UAL's investment strategy and execution of investment process to ensure outside investments increase liquidity and maintain diversification. Post-COVID, United maintains a significant cash balance, meaning these decisions are magnified and can have a major impact on the company’s returns. This role will analyze investment strategies and make recommendations for plans and money managers that will align with United’s investment policies and goals.
Develop and influence investment strategies and models that improve return consistent with the company’s liquidity while maintaining a portfolio that is consistent with the company's safety and liquidity objectivesAnalyze investments across outside money managers to ensure appropriate counterpart, industry, segment and duration riskResponsible for managing the company’s FX exposure through aggressive repatriation processes and foreign exchange hedging within UA's hedging/risk policiesRebalance the investment portfolio or sell certain holdings within the portfolio to ensure proper diversification while adhering to Investment Policy risk and return objectivesEnsure money manager investments are within compliance of United's investment policy as well as analyze firm strategies and resultsBuild relationships with new money management firms with investment strategies that align with United's investment policyProvide financial support, analysis and reporting to divisions' leadership and financePrepare monthly portfolio holdings report for senior managementPrepare interest income forecast and explain variancesPrepare month-end cash and investment summary for 10Q and 10K reporting, FMV reporting and various other daily and monthly reports.Coordinate the daily recording of purchase and sale of investments by outside money managers in Quantum and reconcile all portfolios to ensure investments tie with custodian holding reportsCoordinate the processing of all domestic and foreign movement of funds, including outgoing wire payments, incoming receipts, bank transfers, and foreign exchange spot and hedge transactionsResponsible for the issuance of Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees worldwideResponsible for debt and lease management to ensure timely and accurate payments to our lenders and lessorsEnsure accurate and timely processing of cash transactions and adequate liquidity to fund cash operationsLead the daily operations of the Cash Management team including training direct reports in procedures and technology platforms and be the primary resource for maintaining Quantum and running month-end processesQualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field12+ years in accounting/finance related field, including 3+ years managing peopleAdvanced knowledge of accounting and financial statementsMicrosoft Office skillsAbility to lead multibillion-dollar investment portfolioFamiliarity and proficiency with treasury management systemsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Master's degreeUnderstanding of global companies with international branchesFamiliarity of Quantum treasury management systemThe base pay range for this role is $155,895.00 to $212,410.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
