**Job Description** The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) is a national, non-profit membership organization that successfully uses social change principles to promote high-quality palliative care for people with serious illnesses. The **Director of Palliative Care Program Development** leads development of tools, training and technical assistance necessary to start and sustain successful palliative care programs in all care settings. **Qualifications** + Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree preferred + 5 years of experience in health care finance or administration; experience in strategic planning and execution, formulating policy, building and developing financial plans, managing resources and leading successful teams + CAPC is a division of the Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine Department at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As Mount Sinai Health System employees, all CAPC staff must be vaccinated for COVID-19. + This position is open to applicants throughout the U.S. and will be performed remotely + Must be comfortable with occasional travel Non-Bargaining Unit, 851 - Geriatrics and Palliative Care - ISM, Icahn School of Medicine **Responsibilities** **Roles and Responsibilities** + Strategic direction of CAPC content and program development to support specialty palliative care teams, including: + Collecting and analyzing feedback from the field + Continuously scanning the US health care environment for opportunities and threats to the field + Prioritizing high-value projects, taking into account projected impact and resource allocation + Collaborating with other CAPC content development teams to ensure aligned work + Liaising with CAPC’s Member Services team to understand members’ needs and feedback + Lead a team of project managers, consultants, and external subject matter experts developing CAPC resources and programs + Participate on CAPC’s Enterprise Team + Uphold CAPC’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) values in all professional activities and interactions + Participate on CAPC’s Opportunity Committee to evaluate potential new projects + Develop and maintain key relationships with palliative care field leaders and relevant organizations, to identify opportunities for mission-aligned collaboration + Provide palliative medicine physician oversight on relevant activities across CAPC teams, as needed, including: + Participation on CAPC’s continuing education committee + Clinical education development + Physician leadership development resources + Lead development of new toolkits, tools, and other technical assistance to support palliative care programs and program leaders + Regularly review and update existing CAPC palliative care program development resources to ensure quality + Serve as a co-chair of the CAPC Seminar + Oversight of CAPC’s virtual event programming, including: + Virtual office hours + Webinars + Interprofessional grand rounds + Virtual workshops, as applicable + Oversight of CAPC’s blog content strategy and author selection + Collaborate with CAPC’s fundraising lead to identify and write proposals for foundation grants that support CAPC strategic objectives; track Program Development Dept grant spending in collaboration with Finance Department; and write/co-write grant reports for funded projects that sit within the Palliative Care Program Development Dept + Oversee the CAPC Palliative Care Leadership Centers (PCLCs) + Maintain close collaboration with CAPC’s Health Equity Department, and integrate health equity principles into all of the department’s products and programs + Education Website Lead: + Collaborate with Chief Marketing Officer to triage website development projects, weighing member and organizational priorities + Represent CAPC users’ education needs in discussions about new/changing website functionality + Oversee implementation of all website work (e.g. adding content, posting courses) that is conducted by the Education team **About Us** **Strength Through Diversity** The Mount Sinai Health System believes that diversity, equity, and inclusion are key drivers for excellence. The salary range for the role is $112827.37 - $187000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
