**39954BR** **Extended Job Title:** Director - Business and Finance **Position Description:** Manages personnel and budgetary matters for a department or college. Exercises discretion and independent judgment to oversee the activities of staff and the financial processes to ensure fiscal responsibility of department/college. Ensures staff and faculty have the resources to complete their work. Usually serves as a hiring manager and employee service coordinator. **Requisition ID:** 39954BR **Travel Required:** Up to 25% **Major/Essential Functions:** + Performs responsible supervisory and administrative finance work involving fiscal affairs for the Vice Provost. + Serve as contact person for IT for Network Site Coordinator (NSC) appointments for division. + Serve as NSC for Vice Provost for Student Life and Dean of Students to add and remove employees to/from the share drive and some functional mailboxes. + Maintains, monitors, and evaluates the fiscal and personnel functions of each department within Student Life and advises the Vice Provost with fiscal finding and decisions. + Primary liaison to the respective fee based managers for the division and provide leadership for the administrative assistants and business assistants who maintain budgets and finance. Assists other departments with fiscal, budgetary, personnel, and administrative issues as requested. + Assist and oversee personnel and finance issues and special projects for the Vice Provost for Student Life to include strategic planning, budget planning, and growth planning. + Implement internal policies to help the workflow of each department run smoothly with fiscal, personnel, travel, purchases, payrolls, budgets, contracts, correspondence, and maintain compliance with university policy. + Responsible for general office coordination and management to include: budgeting, accounting activities, personnel, and purchasing for Vice Provost for Student Life, Dean of Students, Campus Life, and Spirit programs. + Prepares and provides comprehensive documents and reports as required for the Division of Student Life. + Accept and review requests for Student Life funding from departments, colleges, and campus groups. + Assist Vice Provost with the Student Services Fee Committee process and allocations of funding for each biannual year. + Assist Vice Provost with all Student Life scholarships; reviews, administers, and awards. + All other duties as assigned by the Vice Provost. **Grant Funded?:** No **Minimum Hire Rate:** 4000 **Pay Basis:** Monthly **Schedule Details:** 8am - 5pm **Work Location:** Lubbock **Preferred Qualifications:** Proven expertise in handling budgets and finance for Texas Tech University, such as: fees, scholarships, institutional tuition, endowments, funds for excellence, special project funding, and grants.
