In this role as an attorney on the FS Legal team, you will partner with a passionate and customer-centric business and serve in a key role advising on a broad array of topics, including debt collection activities, customer communications and contact, and vehicle repossession and auction. You will roll up your sleeves and help identify risks, problem solve, and build solutions while counseling the business on all things from strategy, data, risk, and talent. **A successful candidate will:**

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
+ Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
+ At least 8 years of experience in a law firm, governmental agency, or as in-house counsel
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 10+ years of experience in a law firm, governmental agency, or as in-house counsel
+ 3+ years of experience in advising financial-services companies or advising on debt-collection laws and regulations
+ Demonstrated ability to lead people
+ Experience advising companies on matters of regulatory compliance, including with UDAAP, the FCRA, GLBA, ECOA, and TILA
+ Ability to work effectively both in teams and independently, make effective and integrated decisions, and collaborate effectively at all levels in the company
+ Ability to deal with ambiguous situations, complex concepts, and details
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence others
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

**This role is hybrid meaning associates spend 3 days per week in-person at our Plano, TX office. Fridays are enterprise-wide virtual work days. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are options for in-person days for associates to spend time together working in our beautifully-designed team areas.**
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Plano, TX: $205,400 - $234,400 for Director, Asst General Counsel
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
