Technical Operations includes the maintenance, and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.
Job overview and responsibilities
The Director role will lead a workforce of over 500 Brazilian employees doing repair and overhaul work on United Airlines fleet. Interfacing with organizations to include supply chain, engineering, qualify control, maintenance control, Airport Operation to met planned span on aircraft checks. Must demonstrate leadership abilities to include inclusion, continuous improvement, with safety and compliance as a main focus.
Airframe Overhaul visit scopes include scheduled heavy maintenance, special route holds, modifications, as well as support for the overall Rio de Janeiro site Airframe and Overhaul groupThe role leads a workforce of Brazil based technicians as well as a diverse management team who deploy standard methodologies and analytic rigor to ensure check span adherence and course correction to achieve check schedule and qualityInterfacing organizations include supply chain, engineering, quality control, maintenance control, Airport Operations, and Brazil UA Human ResourcesThought leadership, inclusion, continuous improvement, safety, and compliance, are all successful traits for the roleLeads all aspects of the Airframe Overhaul group of aircraft visits at the Rio site with a production improvement mentality while delivering on budget and time (check span adherence)Partners collaboratively with key groups such as, but not limited to, supply chain, engineering, and planning to ensure the scope of maintenance visits are well defined and executedEngages routinely with front-line employees, as well as Brazil Human Resource leaders to ensure inclusion, partnership, and continuity with information flow and compliance to the Brazil Labor LawsThis position is offered on local terms and conditions. Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experienceAviation ManagementFAA Airframe and Power Plant Certificate10+ years of experienceEffective CommunicationStrong background/knowledge of aircraft check oversight, planning and line or heavy maintenance oversightStrong background/knowledge of FAA regulationsMust be legally authorized to work in Brazil for any employer without sponsorshipMust be fluent in English and Portuguese (written and spoken)Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionPreferred
