Job Description

What You Will Do

Reporting to the VP of Global Quality, the Director of Supplier Quality will manage a global program that identifies and mitigates quality, delivery, and safety risks within our suppliers, crucial for protecting our customers and stakeholders. As an experienced quality leader, you will establish strategies and lead the organization in activities to ensure ongoing oversight of suppliers. This includes supplier auditing, monitoring incoming supplier quality, managing supplier quality issues with root cause determination and corrective action.

You will work globally across all business units and functions to ensure resources and processes are in place to incorporate quality, delivery, and safety issue prevention and mitigation in the NPI process related to supplier-provided components. This role leads a team of senior managers and over 60 highly skilled Supplier Development and Quality Engineers.

How You Will Do It

Team Management: Develop and manage a team of supplier development and quality professionals who collaborate with product engineering, product management, manufacturing, compliance, and strategic sourcing to assess new suppliers for new development programs, ongoing manufacturing, and service activities. NPI Readiness: Ensure suppliers' readiness throughout New Product Introduction, including DFMEA, PFMEA, control plan development, lead-time reduction, run-rate capacity, and successful PPAP. Performance Monitoring: Develop programs and lead global teams to monitor and improve supplier performance based on metrics such as Supplier DPPM, lead-time, on-time delivery, and Warranty/COQ. Assessments and Improvements: Conduct assessments with cross-functional teams for strategic/critical suppliers to prevent poor performance and determine reasons for any issues. Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective, continuous improvement, and preventive action plans. Procedure Development: Lead teams to review, develop, and implement supplier quality procedures and processes for continuous improvement and sustainability. Root Cause Analysis: Assist in evaluating root causes and determining corrective actions for defective parts installed in the field. Lead teams to reduce global spend related to field warranty items. Warranty Recovery: Lead teams responsible for recovering costs from suppliers for supplier-caused warranty issues, engaging sourcing managers. Sustainability Processes: Develop and implement processes related to supplier sustainability, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Budget and Strategy Development: Develop budgets and strategies for the overall global function. Continuous Improvement: Lead quality and delivery continuous improvement activities through data analysis and key performance indicators. Establish processes for routine execution of quality and delivery improvement projects with regular reporting and sharing of best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree OR Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas for this job opening.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field. 12+ years of experience in supplier management, operations, procurement, product quality, or reliability. Demonstrated experience driving material quality and delivery improvement through supplier manufacturing processes using data gathering and analysis, and on-site continuous improvement in a large, complex organization with global customers, manufacturing sites, and suppliers. Experience in developing and applying quality and delivery improvement and reporting methodologies. Certification and advanced practical experience in Lean, Program Management, and Six Sigma. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with strong influencing and problem-solving capabilities.
