Job Description

NBCUniversal’s Insights & Measurement Team is responsible for delivering best-in-class insights to support the Ad Sales division in how we position our premium content, highly engaged audiences, and innovative advertising and sponsorship offerings across our portfolio.  This is an opportunity for data-driven storytellers to develop sales-focused research and analytical solutions for NBCUniversal’s streaming business.    

The Streaming & Data Products team within Insights & Measurement is seeking a Director to help lead the team in solving for some of today’s biggest and most exciting challenges in the premium video space.  As a creative and proactive thinker and doer, you will be a key figure in developing data and insights-driven narratives to support advertising clients, educate the marketplace, and position NBCU as the premier destination for advertisers (and viewers!) within the competitive media landscape. 

You will be hyper-focused on streaming video (e.g., Peacock, NBC app) with particular attention towards unveiling insights about audiences, platform, and advertisement engagement as well as gathering competitive intelligence and informing strategy.  Consequently, you will require considerable cross-functional collaboration with internal partners both within I&M as well as with Sales, Marketing, and other internal teams across various lines of business.  Ideally, you have a passion for media and entertainment, data-driven storytelling, and streaming behaviors. 

Reporting to the VP, Streaming & Data Products, you will: 

Partner with the VP of Streaming & Data Products to develop data-driven narratives to position Peacock and the broader NBCU streaming portfolio within the video marketplace  Enhance, direct, and organize team analyses, reports, and presentations that highlight Peacock’s competitive advantages to drive ad sales revenue for the NBCU Portfolio Leverage first-party, syndicated, and custom research tools and resources to mine data and surface the most relevant platform and content insights and translate them into clear actionable recommendations and compelling narratives Serve as a liaison with the Impact (i.e. brand measurement, attribution) teams to harness ad campaign measurement data, reports, and dashboards and transform them into visually crafted narratives to strengthen go-to-market materials and unlock insights into creative best practices and partner performance Scope out and assess new metrics, tools, or resources to help quantify the value of Peacock in the streaming landscape  Uncover and monitor media behavior trends (e.g., cross-platform video consumption, video motivations, etc.) to help unlock insights that can help ad partners navigate the video landscape and maximize their performance  Partner closely with NBCU Sales, Marketing, and Strategy teams to execute against strategic initiatives, business priorities, and reinforce Peacock’s foothold in the premium streaming marketplace Forge relationships with Peacock Consumer Insights, Decision Sciences, and Content & Analytics teams to develop well-rounded knowledge of the platform and integrate learnings to shape sales narratives and guide ad sales strategy Manage, develop, and mentor a team of 2-3 direct reports 

Qualifications8+ years of work experience in digital/streaming research at a media company, agency, or relevant digital/streaming video organization 5+ years of people/team management experience  Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Communications, Marketing, Media, Economics/Finance, Math, Statistics, Psychology, or a related field Extensive knowledge of digital/streaming measurement related to platform, content, and ad campaigns required (e.g. Nielsen, ComScore, Adobe, TVision, etc.) Hands-on experience in campaign analytics and/or ad effectiveness studies with partner vendors (e.g., MarketCast, Kantar, Dynata, VideoAmp, iSpot, LiveRamp, Circana etc.) required  Extensive knowledge of audience insights and social platforms, such as MRI, YouGov, SCR Talkwalker, Tagger, Pathmatics, etc. required; must be well versed in running analyses, manipulating and formatting data via tools such as Excel, Tableau, or similar  Experience in programmatic marketplace, a plus Comprehensive knowledge of cross-platform media landscape including desktop/mobile, OTT, STV VOD, linear television, and social media consumption Mastery of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required Strong communication, presentation, consultative, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability in representing at and/or presenting to internal and external client meetings Thought leader, proactive thinker and doer Results driven problem-solver Strong cultural competency and advocate for diversity and inclusion

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $125,000 - $170,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
