Job Description:

The Director of Strategy plays a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the company and segment, with a strong focus on driving growth. The Director will help facilitate the strategic planning process and will provide consulting expertise and project management for specific strategic initiatives that are deemed critical to business success. Provides problem-solving leadership, conducts analysis and research, develops recommendations, and communicates well-articulated conclusions to executive leadership. The Director serves as an advisor to the company’s executive leadership at Segment Headquarters and throughout the business sectors.

Essential Functions:

Lead key projects to drive the company’s overall growth strategy.Structure work plans and project scope to deliver business impact on high priority issues.Guide quantitative analysis to drive business decision making.Evaluate and execute on M&A, JV and Divestiture activity.Provide thought leadership and ad-hoc strategic advisement to leaders across the company.Support sector leadership in developing strategies around key challengesPresent recommendations and lead discussions with all levels of management including C-level executives.Review existing operations in target growth markets consistent with the broader L3Harris expansion plan to understand the extent of current business operations and potential growth opportunities.Identify, evaluate, and recommend potential acquisition, strategic alliance, and joint venture partners to accelerate growth and market reach.Successfully integrate businesses to leverage synergies.Understand and stay current with the competitive landscape.Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners for potential teaming opportunities to expand L3Harris markets.Lead and develop talent within the organization, both direct reports and indirect reports

Qualifications:

Requires both advanced business knowledge and highest level of technical mastery in functional area. Leadership capability to guide business or functional teams without formal management role. Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience. High level of business/financial acumen; global business acumen in communications and/or relevant technology markets with broad knowledge of changing global markets.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Ability to generate innovative insights from analysis, communicates results effectively, and work with business partners in developing and implementing new methodologies and analysis to drive actionable results.Strong executive presence as well as the ability to effectively influence and make recommendations at all levels of the organization.Strong technical backgroundStrong project management experience and skills, including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously.Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to translate thoughts and concepts in easy to understand graphics. Experience managing and running large meetings and experience in interfacing with Senior Leadership teamsStrong Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word and Excel skillsExperienced in translating strategy into actionable projects with demonstrated ability to make decision quickly and follow through with actions
