Job Description

The Director will be a part of the Strategic Innovation & Planning (SIP) team, which is responsible for articulating Customer Experience strategy, running planning and budget management, engaging leadership in support of our strategy, running complex cross-functional programs, and championing agile innovation.  MCX includes departments such as Marketing (Brand, Menu, Customer Engagement, Worldwide Convention), New Business Ventures, Innovation & Product, Operations, Restaurant Development, Restaurant Design and Strategic Insights & Delivery.

We are looking for a high-performing MCX Strategic Planning Director, who will report to the Senior Director, Strategic Innovation & Planning. In this role, you will be responsible for execution of planning, initiative portfolio management, key prioritization forums throughout the year, and the formulation and story-telling of the function’s strategy. In addition, the Director will lead cross-functional collaboration on strategic projects to support the broader organization.

Responsibilities:

Lead the execution of phase planning and annual budget planningDevelop and communicate MCX functional strategic narrative, integrating Platform Strategy and Accelerating the Arches into a comprehensive framework for annual planningDevelop content to update executive and cross-functional stakeholders on our strategy and progress against prioritiesOversee the Innovation Fund, including forecasting, modeling, and in-year budget managementFacilitate executive forums, including Innovation Board and MCX Leadership Planning & Prioritization forumsCooperate with Strategy and Alignment teams to facilitate cross-functional alignment and communication on the department’s top priority initiativesManage 2 direct reports: Strategic Planning Manager & Strategic Planning Supervisor

The expected salary range for this role is $168,350 - $218,860 per year

QualificationsUndergraduate degree required, MBA preferredStrategy Consulting or Corporate Strategy experience preferred10+ years of professional experience, including in strategic roles, with direct team leadershipExcellent organizational and project management skills; ability to own a project plan and proactively execute against the planStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and influence a broad set of audiences (including across levels and geographies)Exceptional ability to build concise and visually compelling presentations in PowerPointStrong critical and strategic thinking, experience in concept to execution of new ideasStrong ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and requests simultaneously in a deadline-focused, ambiguous yet dynamic environment with constant changeCuriosity and drive to develop a deep knowledge of the McDonald’s business and systemProactive and solution-oriented problem solver, strong attention to detail, self-starter, and great teammateMastery of the Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
