The Director, Specialty Sales defines and drives strategy and solutions specific to the growth of revenue as defined in the distribution channels in the assigned market segment. This role provides leadership, direction, and development to their team. The Director, Sales promotes the company to the industry, channel partners, employees and executives both internally as well as externally and is responsible for market share/revenue growth as outlined in their sales compensation plan. Director roles and responsibilities can also include managing front-line sellers as well as leaders within the segments of Enterprise Imaging.
What you will be doing Set the department vision and strategy by working collaboratively across the sales leadership teamOversee the development and continual evaluation of sales strategies that effectively leverage the company’s established distribution channels and product solutionsProvide direction and leadership to sales managers or sellers to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets, and company objectivesAnticipate, budget, and plan for needs. Establish and and maintain staffing levels, training plans, cross training initiatives, performance requirements and equipment needsSet sales vision for the identification, tracking and defining of solutions for the target industry. Drive industry knowledge to internal and external stakeholders as defined in the sales compensation plan. Participate in the establishment of sales processes and standards to ensure alignment across the department.Ensure accountability and consistency on team performance and metrics. Continuously improve processes within sales; influence departmental and company process improvementsWork closely with marketing regarding the development and dissemination of marketing campaigns, lead generation, partner advisor tools, and general industry brand awareness; inclusive of analysts.Operate as an innovative thought leader within the company. Contribute significantly to the overall growth and knowledge base of the department. Make recommendations for best practices. Accommodate and champion change effortsOversee the establishment and monitoring of key metrics and reporting; inform executives on a regular basis and drive the team direction accordinglyEstablish and assure leadership adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements and front-line sales alignment with processes, sales detail/rigor and ultimate sales successComply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland’s Information Systems Security Policy What will make you successful Bachelor’s degree or significant related experienceMinimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience in Sales related functions with a B2B software company or SAAS preferredMinimum of 3 years’ experience in and around Enterprise Imaging or Enterprise Content ManagementMust possess exceptional leadership and communication skills as well as sound business judgment. Previous management experience is requiredExcellent communicator with proven ability to clearly convey complex ideas and data in written, presentation and spoken formats to a variety of audiences including executive managementExperience in hiring, building, and managing sales teams and developing strong sales acumenPrepare for and travel to attend various industry trade shows, user groups and customer sites as required. Travel expectation could be up to 40%. Proven track record for meeting/exceeding sales objectives in a software development companyExceptional understanding of the software industry within assigned marketsSuccessful history in negotiating and contracting with key customers and partnersSuccessful experience in structuring sales quotas, compensation plans, and incentive programsProven success in a very fast paced collaborative environmentExperience driving revenue relationships across a broad distribution channelOr an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the jobBased on individual states’ employment laws, the following details are to comply with the relevant salary posting requirements: base salary range of $197,000-$244,000 and eligible for variable compensation, bonus and benefitsWhat you can expect next
