Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director, Security - Security Admin - Full Time Days - Security Admin - Full-Time - 08:00 AM - 04:00.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for directing and controlling the activities of the Security Department Responsible for the daily operation of the locksmith shop and parking facility

Job Responsibilities:

Directly supervises the Assistant Director and Managers and assists the Director in overseeing the
performance of the entire staff of the Department Establishes work standards in order to maximize service
within the Medical Center Ensures assignments are understood and institutes appropriate follow up with the
Assistant Director and Managers to ensure the desired outcomes are reached Allocates resources
appropriate so that assignments can be accomplished Communicates to Assistant Director and Managers
their responsibilities and the standards of performance Counsels Assistant Director and Managers in areas of
their performance which require improvement and/or development Performs written evaluation of the
Assistant Director and Managers after probation and annually thereafter; when performance indicates the
need completes additional written evaluations
bull; Performs other duties as assigned
bull; Ensures departmental vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and utilized Ensures the proper
inventory and handling of vehicles Periodically evaluates condition and makes recommendation to the
Director for the replacement or upgrading as necessary Reviews requests made by Assistant Director and
Managers Ensures proper scheduling of vehicles Ensures the proper maintenance of electronic security
equipment
bull; Monitors and maintains departmental quality assurance standards Utilizes audit results and accident reports
to improve the quality of service Reviews reports completed by staff to address issues and implement
correction action Ensures standards are met by conducting investigations of major consequence or of a
sensitive nature thoroughly and taking correction actions
bull; Oversees the preparation of reports and maintains documentation Prepares reports in a clear and wellwritten
manner Maintains up to date files on documents that are intra and interdepartmental related
Distributes to all staff in a timely manner any reports that are related to achieving department objectives
bull; Plans and proposes new programs for the department Organizes and conducts in service sessions to
implement new programs or to ensure existing programs are being followed Conducts regular meetings to
promote the most effective methods of improving the departments performance Develops security programs
for the security department computers
bull; Plans schedules and encourages staff training and development Conducts the monthly in service sessions
Identifies and establishes programs for orienting new employees Plans the training and development of all
staff in advance of implementation Ensures all policies and procedures are up to date well organized and
easily accessible to all staff Monitors detailed records of performance and training status of probationary
employees completed by Managers and Assistant Director Oversees all special security activities to ensure a
safe and secure environment for patients visitors and employees
bull; Prepares operating and capital budgets Collects any data needed for the preparation of budgets Prepares a
detailed explanation of items requested to be included in the budget Monitors and evaluates income patterns
and variances from housing locksmith and parking Submits budget analysis on time
bull; Establishes and administers policies and procedures Develops and recommends changes in policies and
procedures required in order to comply with new or changed regulations or procedures Establishes systems
to communicate any policy or procedural changes to the Assistant Director and Managers and if necessary
other Medical Center personnel Develops effective complaint procedures for Assistant Director and
Managers Oversees the effective operation of the electronic security equipment

 

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree plus 5 years management experience in law enforcement or security Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of security equipment office automated equipment including personal computers

Long Island Community Hospital provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $79,310.00 - $134,157.50 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
