Job Description
The Director Scientific Communications, Global Operations plays a central role in the efficient application of scientific data and evidence enabling informed decision-making for best patient care and access to Olympus products by the selection of preferred communication formats and channels. The position explores market needs and trends of effective evidence dissemination and translates them into efficient processes applicable for Olympus across functions, further monitors and continuously improves processes and technologies, always in adherence with regulatory requirements.
Job Duties Leads the Scientific Communication Operations team. Develop, drive, and maintain the process and technology landscape of market awareness via the communication of scientific evidence proving the value of Olympus’ technologies. This includes processes but not limited to evidence generation, publication planning evidence dissemination, claims substantiation, unsolicited request processes. Builds and governs efficient processes of cross-functional collaboration to ensure productivity and consistency. Monitors the seamless execution of implemented processes. Establishes key performance indicators (KPI) for MSA Communication activities, monitors, and analyses the data to identify key insights and provides actionable and measurable initiatives to ensure continuous improvement. Identifies and selects the best formats and channels preferred by Olympus’ key stakeholders for the consumption of evidence and scientific information with a specific focus on digital engagement. Identifies and selects information tools to provide the best platform technology of evidence education and dissemination provided by the Medical Content Manager as medical-scientific and the HEMA Managers as health economic experts. Interfaces and effectively collaborates with various relevant internal stakeholders, such as Commercial (Marketing & Sales), Marketing Communication, Regulatory Affairs, Learning & Development. Selects & manages vendors for support in scientific communication. Ensuring adherence to regulatory needs to meet authority requirements. Establishes key performance indicators (KPI) for MSA Communication activities, monitor, Effective people leadership inclusive of talent recruitment, development, and retention. Job QualificationsRequired:
MS Degree in life sciences, or related field Minimum of 10 experience in Medical Affairs/Scientific Communications or related function. Experience in overseeing scientific communication procedural documentation requiring a strong knowledge of international standards, guidelines and regulatory requirements. Deep understanding of the strategic role that scientific communication serves to support the organizations education and communication priorities and requirements. Occasional domestic and international travel (< 10%), including weekend and evening travel as needed.
Preferred:
Direct people management experience and managing teams. Ideally experience in marketing and regulatory functions Solid understanding of the MedTech market Process thinking and track record of SOP writing and implementation. Impeccable attention to detail and ability to complete writing assignments in a timely manner with minimal oversight.
