Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement strategic plans for school-based servicesCollaborate with senior leadership to align services with district goalsFoster partnerships with community organizations and agenciesProgram Development and Management
Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of school-based programsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsManage program budgets and allocate resources effectivelyStaff Supervision and Development
Recruit, hire, and supervise staff, including counselors, social workers, and support staffProvide coaching, training, and professional development opportunitiesEvaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedbackStudent Support Services
Ensure delivery of comprehensive support services, including counseling, mental health, and academic supportCollaborate with teachers and other staff to identify student needs and develop support plansFacilitate referrals to community resources and servicesCrisis Response and Management
Develop and implement crisis response plans, including emergency protocols and threat assessmentsCollaborate with school administrators, law enforcement, and mental health professionals to respond to crisesProvide support and resources to students, staff, and families affected by crisesData Analysis and Reporting
Collect and analyze data on student outcomes, program effectiveness, and service deliveryPrepare and submit reports to senior leadership, school boards, and external agenciesUse data to inform program development, staffing, and resource allocationCommunity Engagement and Partnerships
Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, agencies, and stakeholdersCollaborate with community partners to provide services, resources, and support to students and familiesFacilitate communication and coordination between schools, community agencies, and healthcare providersPolicy Development and Compliance
Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures related to school-based servicesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standardsCollaborate with district administrators to develop and implement district-wide policies and procedures.The Director of School-Based Services must possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as expertise in program development, staff supervision, and crisis response.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
• Master's Degree or licensed professional with post licensure experience in mental health
Supervisory experience preferred, but not requiredPreferred License/Certification (one of the following):
• Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC)
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW)
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Additional Qualifications:
