Director, Sales – Commercial Lighting Agents

About the role This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and recommending sales policies and procedures for Leviton Lighting’s product lines, including Birchwood, Contech and Intense Lighting. This position will focus on demand creation for these products. The Director of Sales is accountable for creating strategic lighting agent and end-user relationships that offer the Leviton Commercial Lighting brands growth with dominant account share. Responsibilities Takes lead role in developing the sales strategy for product sales through the Lighting agent sales channel that will benefit the revenue and operating margin goals for the Business Unit This position has the responsibility to create demand for these product lines and as such, prioritize targeted customers Have a firm grasp on the role that Lighting Controls plays in today’s current market place and how they will affect future sales of lighting products Manage the sales team’s plans for their key contacts and targets Working with the sales team to identify and profile the decision-making individuals at our current agent network and look for ways to improve sales in each territory Create a national sales plan with input from the VP of Sales and the lighting Brand managers Achieve or surpass gross margin expectations for the product lines and the BU Adhere to all financial guidelines in the operating budget and field sales plans Identify and qualify the use of other Leviton internal resources for key business opportunities Procure those internal resources and apply against new business opportunities and projects Monitor and report progress as required to above in a timely fashion Qualifications Understand the role of demand creation and how that works in coordination with other sales entities in the BU’s Strong motivation and interpersonal skills required Ability to plan and organize activities for him / herself as well as gain efficiencies of time and territory management of those who work for this sales organization Thorough knowledge of the agent and specification market is also required A highly developed level of creative skills and resourcefulness to manage sales for the business unit Must apply critical thinking skills to determine best strategic approach for growth in each vertical market Education & Experience A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related field Minimum of 8 years’ experience in sales is typically required Experience in Controls and familiarity with the competition Travel 60% What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: https://careers.leviton.com/benefits Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
