The Director, Sales, Food Manufacturing will be responsible for sales of chocolate and semi-finished products to Key and National accounts located in the Central Region of the U.S.A as well as managing a regional sales team. The Director sells the company’s products and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence and assist customers in applying the products and services to their needs resulting in increased revenues.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintain and manage existing National & Key Accounts according to established sales and revenue goals Maximize sales margins according to established goals by monitoring/assisting with A/R contracts problems, credit hold issues balances, sales price quotes, customer contacts, production and supply chain problem resolution, market information and new product development projects, etc. Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships amongst key and national accounts Customer/Client Focus championing customer business needs utilizing BC resources A proven ability to lead, engage and develop sales talent. Develop and assist in implementing sales strategies for regional sales managers in the East Region. Coach/mentor direct reports; prioritize development of personal and sales development and training Demonstrated ability to develop and execute customer-focused sales strategies, pricing, tactics, budget, forecast, and “go-to-market” plans for assigned accounts/geographic area resulting in increased business. Ability to pull together cross functional teams with in the organization to make sure projects are executed successfully Create and deliver sales presentations and close sales in an effective manner Research new customer needs and develop an application of products and services in an effective manner Develop and manage sales expense budget Ensures that a high professional level of customer service is maintained via resolution of complaints, troubleshooting product supply chain problems, client visits, industry networking, participation in trade shows, chocolate training to Key and National Accounts, etc. Work closely with Cocoa BU account sales manager
About You:
Bachelor’s Degree in any related field 8-10 years of sales experience in a food related industry 3-5 years of managing direct reports Basic business acumen and demonstrated quantitative skills Ability to work independently and as an effective team lead Exercises professional conduct and sound judgment in all related areas Strong communication skills Agile and adaptable in a fast paced growth environment Overnight travel more than 50%
