Director, Safety Programs
**A Day in the Life:** The Director Safety Programs candidate will demonstrate proven ability to foster a culture of safety across all levels of the organization and will demonstrate the ability to lead a safety culture involving initiatives to minimize risks, establish efficient and effective training programs, and seek continuous improvement in safety performance demonstrated by the effective measurement of progress. The selected candidate will be directly responsible for the development and implementation of all Safety Programs in accordance with business needs. The starting salary is $135K; commensurate with experience. **What You’ll Do:** + Develop and implement enterprise safety policies and procedures across a large global organization. + Perform regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards + Proactively assess potential safety risks in all company operation + Conduct training sessions on safety practices, protocols, and regulations + Lead safety initiatives and foster a company culture that incorporates safety as a foundational pillar. + Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate safety into all business operations and to promote safety training services initiatives as needed. + Coordinate closely with Corporate Security, Risk Management, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to establish root cause issues and develop and implement appropriate plans to mitigate risk. + Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards including OSHA. **What We’re Looking For:** + 7 plus years within a large global setting. + Bachelor-level education with a recognized Health & Safety qualification (e.g., at least Diploma or local equivalent), Masters Degree a plus. + Active membership in a local or regional Safety Professional Association or Institute (or equivalent). + Demonstrated success in developing and implementing EHS strategies and programs that drive cultural transformation and improve safety and security performance. + Strong Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement strategic solutions. + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Willingness to travel as needed to various company locations and sites. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications + Excellent organization, time management, delegation, and prioritization skills. **What’s In It For You:** + Up to 40% off the base rate of any standard Hertz Rental   + Paid Time Off + Medical, Dental & Vision plan options + Retirement programs, including 401(k) employer matching + Paid Parental Leave & Adoption Assistance + Employee Assistance Program for employees & family + Educational Reimbursement & Discounts + Voluntary Insurance Programs - Pet, Legal/Identity Theft, Critical Illness + Perks & Discounts –Theme Park Tickets, Gym Discounts & more The Hertz Corporation operates the Hertz, Dollar Car Rental, Thrifty Car Rental brands in approximately 9,700 corporate and franchisee locations throughout North America, Europe, The Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
