To help enable this transformation, we are seeking a forward thinking, multi-faceted **Director, Regulatory Strategy and Engagement** to lead this innovative and groundbreaking work.

**Key Scope and Areas of Impact** **:**
+ Provides direction and advocacy at the Oregon Public Utility Commission (OPUC) in contested matters with multiple external stakeholders that have alternative policy goals and competing analyses. The advocacy includes providing testimony, comments, data responses and negotiating to settlements on key policy and programmatic activities.
+ Oversees compliance reporting to the regulator on a variety of issues. May conduct research and studies to assess the effectiveness of current tariff and regulatory approaches when appropriate, develops proposals to change them. Provides internal consulting to other departments on regulatory strategy and impacts on business matters.
+ Develops and manages relationships with regulators and stakeholders related to policy, rulemakings, planning activities, and other filings. Informs and executes regulatory strategy.
+ Leads a team of regulatory policy, strategy and advocacy professionals responsible for advancing PGE and our customer’s priorities in key regulatory rulemakings and planning and programmatic development and rulemaking activities at the Commission and with stakeholders.
+ Establishes and fosters relationships with management level colleagues within and outside the company, including government agencies and industry experts in accomplishing function or program objectives.
+ Determines organizational development needs in line with business needs and strategic direction of departments; generates development strategies to achieve required change; monitors progress and evaluates business impacts.
+ Directs major regulatory projects and multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality results that meet strategic objectives; establishes rules and policies consistent with the company’s objectives, procedures, and programs, as well as applicable rules, regulations and statutes.
+ Informs strategy and addresses business and operational challenges through advocacy at the OPUC; establishes priorities, assessing work and assisting with company strategic objectives.
+ Leads assigned regulatory dockets before the OPUC, ensuring that deadlines are met, subject matter experts are effectively engaged, and the company’s positions are effectively presented.
+ Provides internal regulatory strategy consulting for functional areas; participates in developing regulatory goals and strategies internally and before the OPUC for functional areas; manages the development of testimony, exhibits, work papers and/or other documentation for assigned projects for submittal to the regulator; develops regulatory relationships that build trust and help manage risks.
+ Provides quasilegal research and analysis in the development of solutions related to functional areas of responsibility; develops technical solutions to complex and nonroutine regulatory issues.
+ Exercises comprehensive functional and industry knowledge in specialized areas; identifies and resolves complex multidimensional business problems; exercises delegated authority over planning, direction and timely execution for a functional area or program.
**Education/Experience/Certifications**
**Education** Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, engineering or other related field or equivalent experience.
**Experience** Typically 15 or more years in legal, quasi-legal, regulatory or related field, particularly experience leading or influencing utility regulatory functions.

Compensation Range:
$172,550.00 - $320,450.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
