Director, QA Engineering (Remote Mexico or ARG)

The Director of Quality Assurance & Engineering Functions will Heads a high performing Quality Assurance and Engineering team for the Company in the Technology Solutions unit. This role will serve as strategic quality engagement lead responsible for developing and implementing the QA strategy and roadmap for the organization. Will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as software development, product management, and operations, to drive innovation, enhance processes, and ensure the highest standards of quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop a strategic vision for quality delivery, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and the company's technology roadmap.

·       Performs line management responsibilities for QA team.

·       Supervise the creation, implementation, and upkeep of QA procedures and standards.

·       Approves courses of action on interviewing and selection, terminations, professional development (including specific QA training), performance appraisals, job description preparation, and employee counseling.

·       Manages reported quality issues in accordance with Company requirements.

·       Assists with the development and review of QA procedures, audit plans, checklists, and other tools

·       Remains current on regulations and guidelines

·       Works with and advises staff on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods.

·       Manage daily operations related to quality team and establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance quality deliverables.

·       Lead the hiring, coaching, and mentoring of resources to build a robust quality organization.

·       Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, exceeding their expectations.

·       Support the team to help resolve client issues promptly and effectively.

Conduct regular client reviews to gather feedback and identify improvement opportunities

·       Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing delivery team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

·       Provide direction and support to managers and staff, set performance goals, and conduct evaluations.

·       Promote ongoing learning and professional growth within the team.

·       Identify areas for process enhancement and implement initiatives to improve overall quality

·       Work with other departments to streamline operations and ensure cohesive workflows.

·       Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and improve quality.

·       Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies.

·       Oversee the implementation of quality assurance practices to ensure delivery standards are met.

·       Prepare and present regular reports on quality team, including metrics, achievements, and areas for improvement.

·       Manage the quality budget to ensure optimal resource allocation for achieving project and organizational goals.

·       Oversee relationships with third-party vendors and partners to ensure they meet delivery standards and contractual obligations.

·       Shares lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with key stakeholder’s cross-functionally, across all levels

·       Supports Change Management, including adjustments based on emerging business or technical opportunities and challenges

·       Maintains senior management-level relationships with Customers via routine meetings (e.g., 1:1’s with counterparts), governance meetings and other forums

·       Actively mentors team in leadership skills, customer management skills, project management skills,  and for project specific tasks.  

·       Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

·        Moderate travel may be required (up to 50%). 

Qualifications

Years of experience required: Minimum 3 years of leadership role experience and 10-12 years of relevant quality assurance & engineering experience

 Degree (BS/BA required, MS/MA preferred) in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fields.

·       Testing experience on BI platforms.

·       Experience with writing SQL queries including calling stored procedures by passing parameters, functions industry leading development tools.

·       Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, ADW, Power BI & Tableau.

·       Knowledge of cloud-based data warehouse tools, Snowflake preferred.

·       Experience in issue tracking tools and test management tools (Writing test cases, test execution, defects life cycle & generating reports).

·       Experience leading a high performing team and working across multiple stakeholders to deliver results while educating and growing team members. Global Experience is preferred.

·        Concise and clear written and oral communication. Proven experience with delivering insights and reports with PowerPoint slides to customers. Strong attention to detail.

·       Conversant with ELT and Report testing.

·       Good knowledge on Agile framework, testing methodologies, STLC/SDLC.

·       Experience and deep skills of testing data warehouse ELT processes.

·       SQL competency across multiple database technologies (MS SQL Server and Snowflake preferred).

·       Strong analytical skills and logical approach to problem solving.
