The Director, Program Management is responsible for leading the WDB Program and Portfolio in Hillsboro OR, United States. This position drives product development for Semiconductor industry, integration of automation processes on the products, execution of joint evaluation programs with strategic customers and maintenance of released products including support of Factory and Field, all in close collaboration with internal functions as well as business partners within Semiconductor Business Unit.
A day in the Life
Lead a group of program execution managers. Brings in new team members, helps with their onboarding and training.
Responsible to plan and multiple programs/projects with cross-functional challenges. Lead teams with a passion to win!
Drive the definition, development, delivery and deployment of capital equipment hardware/software product/solutions for the semiconductor labs and fabs according to our development process, schedule and budget.
Detailed schedule analysis of critical paths to identify key technical and schedule risks and establishing mitigation activities. Use of MS Project and/or agile tools, as appropriate, is required.
Establish a common understanding among our teams on why and how the program introduces differentiated products and services for our customers. Align teams to project timelines, achievements, budgets and expectations on delivery.
Assess project/program performance. Identify problems and proactively institute corrective actions, as the need arises.
Lead projects budget; overview actuals versus plan and resolves issues as they arise.
Interact with peers, functional groups and customers; builds and presents reports and project status updates to the BU and DLT levels on a routine basis, reinforcing team operating principles.
Foster the culture of involvement, ownership and accountability within the organization. Drive the competency growth in the project and program leadership domain.
Partner with Product Marketing and management to develop our long term strategic plans to increase and improve our business opportunities. Challenge proposals, plans, assumptions and strategy and offer alternatives to reduce risk and increase overall business success.
Collect and analyzes program data to highlight where resource supply is not balanced with demand across the portfolio.
Lead and advise the day-to-day aspects, timely delivery, and risk management of programs.
Act as project champion and project “general manager”; develops team to complete all project results; leads cross-functional core team.
Key to success
Education
BS in Physics, Engineering, Project Management or related field is required, MS or Ph.D. highly desired
Experience
10 + years proven experience in leading development programs in different stages of from concept through commercialization
Experience with leading and development of teams, coaching and mentoring is needed.
Experience developing sophisticated semiconductor capital equipment, including guiding the development of software features and capabilities. Metrology equipment experience highly preferred.
Experience using standard program management tools and software including development plans, timelines, risk management, and budget development and monitoring is needed.
Experience implementing Critical Chain methodology in development projects.
Experience with Agile, SAFe development methods or their implementation for hardware is beneficial.
Semiconductor fab experience can be a benefit.

Strong leadership skills, prioritization schemes and willingness to take ownership of issues and tasks
Proven record building consensus among multiple key players, who may not be under your direct management chain, proactively identify and resolve conflicting requirements in both technical and resource domains without unnecessary frictions.
Proven track record of responding promptly to and prioritizing appropriately customer requests.
Ability to lead, prioritize and optimize multiple projects at the same time. Respond to changes in customer requirements and business priorities and translate them into smooth execution with minimal impact on development teams.
Outstanding organizational, planning, process development, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with and communicating effectively (listen, speak, present and write) to all levels of management and building working relationships with others outside of the project team.
Demonstrated ability to operate across multiple cultures strongly preferred.
Ability to prioritize and disseminate information efficiently and convey expectations of accountability.
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, both domestically and internationally, as the need arises.
