The BlackRock Multi-Alternatives solutions business is growing its Product Strategy team with a new Vice President or Director to play a key role in driving the growth of our private market solutions capabilities.

BlackRock's Multi-Alternatives (Multi-Alts) team sits at the heart of BlackRock’s Alternative platform, collaborating across investment teams and capabilities. The mission of Multi-Alts is to craft commingled and customized solutions that take advantage of changing market opportunities by leveraging the full breadth of the firm’s capabilities.
With over $41B in AUM, the Multi-Alternatives business includes three key areas of alternative investment expertise:
• Alternative Portfolio Solutions (APS): manages portfolios of primarily private market alternatives via internal BlackRock investment teams, as well as external managers.
• Direct Private Opportunities (DPO): constructs portfolios of direct, private market investments in specialty and emerging assets.
• Hedge Fund Solutions (HFS): builds portfolios of liquid alternatives via external hedge fund managers.
About this Role
Join our Multi-Alts Product Strategy team as a VP or Director. You will be responsible foridentifying, growing, and maintaining client investments for our APS private markets solutions.
• Drive growth strategy and execution for private markets solutions alongside Multi-Alts leadership. This involves proactively identifying and meeting with prospective investors to grow the platform.
• Work with collaborators from APS portfolio management and product structuring to create tailored portfolios and products that meet client needs and target fundraising markets.
• Influence key partners and decision makers to drive progress, commit resources and achieve buy-in for new launches.
• Coordinate client experience by collaborating with BlackRock client business teams, portfolio managers, and operational teams. Responsibilities include leading all aspects of relationship management, such as investment update meetings and customized reporting.
• Development of marketing materials and content associated with new business opportunities, existing client accounts and regional/platform wide initiatives.
• Engage in substantive conversations related to portfolio investments across Multi-Alts with prospective and existing clients.
Title and compensation will be commensurate with the relevancy of past experience and qualifications to the Product Strategy role.
Qualifications
• Extensive knowledge across private markets, including private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate and liquid alternatives.
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the investment industry, with a primary emphasis on the private market space.
• Background in designing private market products and portfolios highly preferred.
• Ability to proactively and creatively raise capital and manage client relationships. Knowledge of alternative investor buying behavior and regulatory regimes a plus.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with experience presenting and driving discussions with sophisticated investors on various private markets-related themes, including market backdrop and portfolio construction.
• Strong research and writing skills to clearly articulate sophisticated and complex concepts, ideas, and processes.
• Strong organizational and project management skills; able to handle multiple objectives, meet deadlines, and collaborate with senior leadership and diverse teams around the world.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and ability to develop familiarity and skill using proprietary technology.
• Ambitious work ethic and professional disposition.
• Unimpeachable integrity with an uncompromised reputation and drive for quality.
• Proficient Spanish skills additive.
• Currently holding or eligible to hold Series 7, 63, or 66.
• CFA designation additive or equivalent experience.
