JOB SUMMARY
The Director Procurement will be responsible for overseeing the company’s procurement strategy, indirect sourcing, and supplier management processes, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services to support our retail operations. The Director will lead a team and collaborate closely with other departments to support the company’s goals for growth, profitability, and sustainability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategic Procurement Leadership: Develop and execute the procurement strategy to meet the company’s objectives for cost savings, quality, and timely delivery of products and services. Align procurement initiatives with business needs. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring they meet performance standards related to quality, cost, lead times, and compliance. Negotiate contracts and terms to optimize value and minimize risk. Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising on quality. Drive value engineering and cost-saving initiatives across all procurement categories. Risk Management and Compliance: Oversee risk management strategies related to procurement, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical sourcing practices. Proactively address potential disruptions in the supply chain. Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize advanced analytics, market research, and procurement data to drive decision-making and improve procurement processes. Leverage technology to improve procurement efficiency and transparency. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Set clear performance objectives, provide feedback, and ensure the team remains aligned with business goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). 10+ years of experience in procurement and sourcing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a retail or consumer goods environment. Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar procurement budgets and large-scale supplier networks. Strong understanding of procurement best practices, supplier negotiations, and contract management. Experience in driving cost reduction initiatives and process improvements. Familiarity with procurement technology, including ERP and eProcurement systems. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions. Knowledge of sustainability, ethical sourcing, and regulatory compliance standards.
