Job Title : Sr Planning Manager

Planning Manager for Forecourt project Mumbai.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our team at JLL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and scheduling for large-scale mixed-use developments (commercial, hotel, retail, and urban landscape development). This role requires a combination of high technical expertise (minimum 15 years of experience), excellent communication and presentation skills (to clients and director-level stakeholders), and the ability to challenge consultants and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Scheduling:

Develop and maintain a detailed master schedule baseline for large-scale projects (c 4.7 million sq. ft., 9 buildings, including hotels and mixed-use developments).

Oversee multiple buildings, including hotels and glass structures

Coordinate superstructure and basement construction

Ensure project adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards

Monitor critical paths, identify potential delays, and propose mitigation strategies.


Technical Expertise:

Adapt and manage project data effectively

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of construction processes, including façade systems, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and complex structures.

Support creation of project coding systems

Utilize backend technical skills for project management software

Update reports in specific required formats

Apply knowledge of finishing and façade systems

Conduct detailed analysis of project data to inform decision-making and optimize performance.

Capable of utilising expert planning software at advanced level (MS Project, Primavera P6, Other).

Client and Stakeholder Management:

Liaise with high-profile clients, consultants, and design teams

Present project schedules and updates to clients and director-level stakeholders with clarity and confidence.

Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills

Conduct strategic planning sessions with stakeholders

Challenge consultants and contractors on programme deliverables to ensure compliance with project goals.

Risk & Cost Management

Identify and manage risks associated with project schedules, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

Create and maintain project baselines

Monitor and control project costs

Provide expert advice on schedule-related risks and opportunities.

Leadership & Mentorship

Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams

Mentor junior planners and team members, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing.

Facilitate communication between all project participants

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field

Minimum 15 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large, multimillion (+1,000 Crore) construction projects, including mixed-use developments.

Proven track record managing large-scale, mixed-use developments

Advanced knowledge of planning and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and reporting tools.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, particularly in hotel and retail sectors

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Ability to challenge consultants and contractors effectively.

Experience with strategic planning and high-profile client management

Preferred:

PMP certification

Knowledge of sustainable building practices.

Experience on international projects and in India.
