The Director, Market Insights, manages the market analysis team and coordinates the internal alignment of ABS’s view on market trends, competitive positioning, and future opportunities. This Director, Market Insights, will develop comprehensive market intelligence and reporting frameworks. Coordinate views across business lines. Deliver competitive assessments and risk analyses. Manage data feeds and ensure accuracy. Provide insights for pricing and strategic initiatives.

What You Will Do:

Lead and manage the market analysis team, ensuring effective performance and professional development. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. Develop and implement comprehensive market intelligence and reporting frameworks. Ensure the continuous improvement of market analysis methodologies and tools. Coordinate and align market views across various business lines within ABS. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure a unified approach to market trends and competitive positioning. Conduct thorough competitive assessments to identify market opportunities and threats. Perform risk analyses to support strategic decision-making and mitigate potential risks. Oversee the management of data feeds, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Implement best practices for data collection, storage, and analysis. Provide actionable insights for pricing strategies and other strategic initiatives. Deliver regular and ad-hoc reports to senior management, highlighting key market trends and insights. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather relevant market information and feedback. Represent ABS in industry forums and conferences to stay updated on market developments. Monitor and evaluate the performance of market insights initiatives. Adjust strategies and tactics based on performance metrics and market feedback.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

7–10 years in market intelligence, analytics, and consulting. Proficiency in visualization tools, modeling, and project management. A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field is required. Master’s Degree or MBA is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient in market research methodologies and competitive analysis. Deep understanding of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape. Skilled in data collection, analysis, and reporting with familiarity in data management systems. Knowledgeable in strategic planning processes and pricing strategies. Strong ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights. Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and concise presentations. Strong skills in planning, executing, and monitoring multiple projects. Effective in working with cross-functional teams and building stakeholder relationships. Flexible to adapt to changing conditions and foster a culture of innovation. Familiarity with Classification societies, maritime transportation, ABS, ABS Group, and Wavesight is highly desirable. Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System. 

Reporting Relationships:

This position will report to the Vice President, Market Insights. This position will have direct reports.
