Overview

We are currently looking for someone to join our team in the permanent role of Director of Learning and Education.  This position is based out of our corporate office located in Waterloo, Ontario, with hybrid working options also available.

 

The Director of Learning and Education will collaborate closely with the Integrated, Specialized, and Core Business Programs Team, Operation Teams, Human Resources, and other internal and external key stakeholders, to lead the development and execution of learning programs focused on enhancing talent development, ensuring teams are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles and drive business success.

The Director of Learning and Education, will also coordinate educators to align with the expansion of the Home Support Worker Program.

Training and Strategy Development

Identify learning needs and priorities of front-line leaders and direct care staff through collaboration with operational leaders, shared services, and key stakeholders.Based on identified learning needs and priorities develop a comprehensive training strategy aligned with CarePartners goals and operational objectives. Establish clear learning objectives and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs. Collaborate with Shared Services, Operations, integrated, Specialized, and Core Business Programs, to develop training material for various programs. Develop a proposal for enhancement of HSW program

Curriculum Design and Implementation

Support the development of curricula tailored to various operational and shared services’ needs. Ensure training programs are designed based on adult learning principles and organizational objectives.Leverage best practices and innovative training methodologies to create engaging and impactful learning experiences.Partner with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date.Ensure the Home Support Worker (HSW) and all other courses have a course syllabus to support fidelity in delivery and equity in grading of courses.   Support updates to the HSW program to align with current and emerging trends.

Training Delivery and Facilitation

Oversee the Home Support Worker Program, through collaboration with shared services and operations to ensure the program runs smoothly.Oversee the delivery of training programs through a variety of channels, including instructor-led sessions, e-learning modules, workshops, and on-the-job training.Provide guidance and support to internal trainers/instructors and facilitators to ensure consistent and effective delivery of training content.Monitor training sessions and participant feedback to continuously improve training materials and delivery methods.Oversee the management of Learning Management System- CPLearn. Curate various training offerings to support staff professional developmentEnsure orientation for all roles is standardized across the organization in collaboration with subject matter experts.

Performance Evaluation and Analysis

Establish mechanisms to assess the impact and effectiveness of training initiatives on operational performance.Work with Learning Coordinator to analyze training data and feedback and using a PDSA cycle make improvements to training programs. Work closely with operational leaders and HR partners to address performance deficiencies and develop targeted training interventions.

Compliance and Regulatory Training

Ensure that training programs comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.Stay informed about relevant regulatory changes and updates affecting operational practices, and incorporate them into training content as necessary.Collaborate with Occupational Health and Safety, and Strategy Management, Governance and Digital Health teams to ensure training materials reflect current regulations and guidelines.

 

What You Bring Regulated Health Professional (e.g., RN, RPN, OT, PT) Minimum of 5 years of experience in education, learning, and development.Baccalaureate degree required. Masters preparation preferred. Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.Experience in designing and delivering learning programs required. Strong facilitation, project management, and collaboration skills.Familiarity with instructional design models and Learning Management Systems (LMS).Knowledge of adult learning principles, requiredStrong proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft office.Keen attention to detail, ability to prioritize, multitasking skills and organizational skills;Strong written communication, proofreading and editing skills required to draft and/or generate correspondence/documentsA clear background checkValid driver's license, own vehicle, and appropriate insurance CarePartners In Your Community

In addition to providing home-based personal support, rehabilitation and therapy, nursing and palliative care across Ontario, CarePartners also serves the community through clinics, transitional care units, and provides relief in nursing homes and shared care settings.
