Director, IT Training - Digital Technology Services

The **Director, IT Training** is accountable to design, plan and implement the training program(s) aligned with the objectives and strategy of Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Training programs under the purview of the Director may include but are not limited to, steady state, new hire, and new implementations. Collaborates with operational management teams to evaluate and plan for future training and development needs and to assess the effectiveness of established programs, implementing changes as needed. Reports to the VP, Clinical Applications and will oversee the Epic Training Manager, System Specialists, Credentialed Training and Physician Liaison teams to ensure alignment of all critical training support functions. **Responsibilities** A day in the life of a **Director, IT Training** at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: + Design training methodology for steady state, new hire, new implementations and affiliate sites + Oversees development of various training tools and content including but not limited to classroom materials, knowledge builders, eLearning's, guided practice sheets, etc. + Collaborates with operational management teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established program(s). + Facilitates the deployment of the Epic training curriculum. + Conducts periodic analysis to identify process opportunities and training delivery improvements needed for successful training program(s) at HMH. + Oversees build out and maintenance of training facilities for the enterprise. + Establishes the plan for build and maintenance of Epic training environments (i.e. MST, ACE's, Playground). + Collaborates with Epic application teams to ensure Epic training environment is kept refreshed and current. + Responsible for the direct supervision and direction of the Training Manager and as a point of escalation for the system specialists, credentialed trainers and physician liaisons. + Oversees design and development of the methodology for tracking and reporting End User training statistics (i.e. attendance, competency, success rate, etc.). + Ensures Training Course Catalog aligns with overall HMH Training Program goals. + Ensures an effective End User competency exam is included in the overall training methodology. + Ensures the training environment is consistent and stable with ongoing development. + Other duties and/or projects as assigned. + Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. **Qualifications** **Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** + Bachelor's degree in adult education or other related field. + Minimum of 7 or more years of managerial experience. + Minimum of 7 or more years of experience in instructional design and implementation of a comprehensive training program, preferably within a healthcare setting. + Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in system implementation and support, preferably within a healthcare setting. + Deep knowledge of Epic training structure and solid knowledge of overall departmental function. + Familiar with e-learning, web based, and synchronous/asynchronous learning content (i.e. HealthStream). + Excellent knowledge of English grammar and spelling for use in both verbal and written communication. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. + Must possess excellent interpersonal skills. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and attend numerous meetings. + Self-motivated with ability to quickly learn new concepts, job requirements as well as handle frequent change. + Willingness to travel overnight for educational classes and work non-standard/extended hours. + Proficient in Learning Management Software (LMS). + Capacity to manage multiple competing objectives and to clearly communicate results. + Ability to lead others and to communicate the importance of training to all stakeholders. + Experience with project management, adult education, and curriculum delivery. + Strong organizational and coordination skills; ability to sequence activities logically. + Ability to develop and adhere to time schedules in order to meet project deadlines. + Interpersonal skills to function in administrative, management, and patient care environments. **Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:** + Experience with technology or healthcare strongly desired. + Existing knowledge of organizational culture, personnel, and processes strongly desired.
