Reporting to the Brand Management function, this position leads, co-leads, plans, develops, and executes against key brand performance indicators (KPIs), priorities, projects, and initiatives on a regional level that drive business value for the Hampton brand in China with our Master License Agreement (MLA) partner, and participates with select enterprise level workstreams. As Director, you will serve as the brand expert in China, be a holistic integrator across the wider organization and with negotiating and influencing this partnership at its highest levels, be responsible for studying data, identifying insights, developing recommendations, presentations, and business cases, crafting strategies and plans, managing projects, leading and mobilizing vital resources for implementation. The role requires experience with a fast-paced global business environment. We are looking for individuals who have an attention to detail, creativity, entrepreneurial mentality, and an outstanding ability to be an effective spokesperson for the Brand.

The Director, Hampton China Brand Management is responsible for:

\n

Setting Strategy

\n

•    Ensuring the business has the correct focus, delivers the right level of profitability, and long-term 
        brand equity.  Adapt the brands’ value proposition, operating model, product – including prototype and 
        programming – to reflect the needs of guests, owners, and operating contexts in the region, while 
        maintaining differentiated swim lanes relative to other Hilton brands and competitors.

\n

•    Partners with Brand Management leadership to develop short and long-term strategies and priorities for the  
        brand through an annual planning process, coordinates the development and approval of the annual program 
        fund budget with agreement across the various organizations and teams.

\n

•    Ability to think strategically, with the know-how to deliver at the brand, regional, and property level.

\n

Executing for Results

\n

•    Monitors holistic regional brand health and drives performance against KPIs by liaising across the 
        enterprise and with the MLA partner to develop strategies and tactics for trending portfolio 
        opportunities.
•    Develops and leads project plans against short and long-term strategies.
•    Proactively manages and executes day-to-day activities for enterprise and brand initiatives including 
        localization, implementing change management processes such as development of resources and facilitation 
        of education and other engagement opportunities to ensure high levels of adoption.
•    Complete timely account governance including reporting, dashboards, meeting facilitation, and analysis.
•    Support the brand in region with compliance to the terms of their agreement and ensures resolution  
        including good financial standing, properly executing an approved Quality Assurance program, adherence to 
        approved Brand Standards, and a reasonable waiver process.

        diverse, cross-functional collaborators globally.

        and needs of our partner across the enterprise to achieve win-win solutions, ensure strategic alignment 
        and progress towards shared goals.

•    Develop strong, positive working relationships with partners, owners, and owner representatives, gather 
        feedback, addresses concerns, and cultivate enthusiasm for the brand and support for enterprise and brand 
        initiatives.

\n

•    Capable of representing, promoting, and building excitement for the brand to a broad range of external and 
        internal stakeholders to include owners, guests, and colleagues.

\n

•    Serves as the main point of escalation through a proven solutions-based mindset and comfort in navigating 
        difficult discussions, ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as 
        appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems.

        desired outcomes, and comfortable dealing with ambiguous situations and in setting expectations.

•    Strong project management skills and highly organized with a consistent record of working on complex 
        projects with multiple partners and cross-functional teams.
•    Innate strength to navigate large, matrixed organizations and build/maintain positive and productive 
        relationships at all levels.
•    Experience with strategy development, building business cases, gaining internal/external consensus, 
        driving implementation, backed by a track record of consistently achieving timelines and results.
•    Understanding of local enterprise culture and ways of working preferred.

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
•    Minimum 15 years of professional experience
•    Minimum 15 years of hospitality experience, preferably within the Chinese market; domestic brand experience a plus
•    Minimum 8 years  experience developing strategies, project management, account management, driving 
        implementation, gaining support in a cross-functional environment, translating market research and  
        identifying key insights
•    Ability to travel domestically and globally as required, approximately 40%
•    Language: English and Chinese (reading, writing, listening, speaking, interpretation and translation)

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
•    Bachelor’s degree or on the job equivalent experience.
•    Minimum 8 years of managerial experience
•    Minimum 8 years developing annual plans, corporate budgets, narratives, business cases, forecasts, and 
        strategic roadmaps for large enterprises
