Title and Summary

Director, Governance & Compliance SME, Mastercard Europe Technology

Job Description Summary: The Director role serves as a key regulatory TECH Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the region, promoting and maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the regional incident response process and resilience enhancements. This position reports to the Vice President, Governance & Compliance, Mastercard Europe Technology.

Key Accountabilities:
•\tAct as the primary regulatory TECH SME for compliance with all current TECH oversight requirements in the region.
•\tServe as a point of contact for all TECH-related regulatory requests, including regular central bank engagements, addressing regulatory findings, and supporting self-assessments.
•\tMaintain oversight of the external regulatory landscape and assess potential impacts to TECH.
•\tProvide governance support for MCE Technology and ensuring policies and procedures are reviewed in line with regulatory requirements.
•\tSupport the MCE Governance Requirements Owner for MCE – MCT (Mastercard Technologies) and assist in bi-annual service reviews with MCT.
•\tMonitor and coordinate the reporting of all operational incidents reaching regulatory thresholds in the region, in partnership with Regulatory Affairs.
•\tCollaborate with peers in other regions to share best practices and enhance the global incident management process.
•\tSupport both the 1LOD (Technology Risk Management) and 2LOD (Risk Management) with the identification and monitoring of MCE operational risks.
•\tMaintain oversight of program resiliency enhancements impacting the region.
•\tCoordinate all MCE TECH deliverables to key stakeholders, including the QEBR with the Regional President.
•\tWork closely with MCE TECH Division Leads to support customer escalations and operational resilience requirements.
•\tProvide leadership, direction, and development to junior team members.
•\tPromote a strong compliance and governance culture.

Qualifications and Experience:
•\tKnowledge of the European regulatory landscape impacting payments (essential).
•\tBachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of 5-8 years of training and experience (desirable).
•\tGood understanding of the MC network and core transactional programs.

•\tCollaborative approach, building trust and maintaining excellent relationships with key stakeholders.
